Default Keep the 02 or Go GC V7 swap

So I will have the 02 WRX paid off in 1 month. It has 55555 miles on the clock, Cobb Stage 2, here is a pic

Now my choice, sell this ~15,000.00, Purcahse GC coup or sedan and give it the entire V7 treatment. With the cash I could get the entire clip, Motor, 6 speed, brembos, etc. As well as the GC. All of this performance paid for with cash is very tempting.

All difficulty aside what would you do? Any other good options. I would do all of the work, I have all of the tools, just lack the wiring know how.

Swap a V7 in to the GD, I don't think there is that much more wiring, just AVCS.

oh toughy..the GC's are getting more rare...and a swap is killer

If you could find a white 2dr that would be sweet, but then again having a newer car has its benefits and a swap into the GD would be killer as well

Well the swap should be no more difficult then swapping in a ej205, And the money for the swap would come from the sell of the current 02 WRX.

depends on what you want.
Your GD will be more comfortable, A/C, ect...
The GC will be a PITA! doing a V7 swap is very difficult. the wiring is verry frustrating, and unless you are good at wiring dont even think about doing the V7. Azntuner thought that wiring was going to be easy, just ask him where he is at with his GC. also depending on how good you are working on cars you might be out a car of 1-2months. so make sure you have a 2nd car to get around in.

If anything i would recomend going with a V1 or V2 STi or RA engine. This will be an EJ20G. and if you get a OBDI GC wiring in the EJ20G is not that hard.(its very diff. but not as hard to do as a v7). and with a PowerFC, VF turbo, IC, TBE, you will be around 300WHP. and from my experience the older EJ20's will take more of a beating then a newer engine.

<---EJ20G in a GF ....im a little bias

Wouldn't the V7 wiring be very similar to wiring up a US WRX EJ205???? If so it has been done quite a few times.

yes, v7 is suposed to be pretty stright foreward in a bugeye. and if you can get an entire front clip and i do mean entire the swap can be even easier. that said, swaps are never easy and price tags are not good for something that hasent been finished yet. or in some motorcycle lingo i heard recently, "the bike is only the downpayment for the accessories"

The GD is a far superior chassis for rigidity. Nothing short of seam welding a GC is going to get it up to stock GD levels, so if you're a handling lover, it's no question. I know the GC can be made lighter, but that's not always better for handling when other factors are taken into account.

Either that or sell my car and lay down a nice down payment on an STi.
