Thumbs down Jack Milller Subaru in Kansas

Hey dudes!

anyone have bad experiences with these guys?
I was told by the sales manager "thanks for wasting my time!"
i think my asking for an internet price may have led to this... lol
but i'm used to being treated like a king (when i nearly bought a Cobra!)

I didn't have a bad experience, they were just real pushy, and lied to try to get me to buy a 2002. Just be pushy right back, that's how you have to play the game with those people.

I am just beginning the possible buying game with these guys? Not sure though after reading all about the Trany issues? Also the way the dealer drove the subie didn't impress me. He literally beat the sheet out of it. Took it up to redline trying to show off i guess? I really was like well i might still buy one, just not from this dealer. THere are 3 in the area. Still i am unsure of these guys. I caught them lying a couple times. I asked about a 6 speed and the guys said LOL they haven't invented one of those yet (that still kills me) After the test drive he brought out his manager with him? Why i have no idea, but i thought to kind of intimidate me? Thanks for the previous post i will be weary with these guys and i'll walk if they push too hard. I can always head over to St. Louis or Chicago if need be.

Nevermind. I will not buy from them. I just finally got them to give me a price quote over the phone. Said since there are so few they really don't go under MSRP. But if I would come in he might beable to work some sort of deal out and cut off 4 hundy or so? LOL Also said that because there are only 10k of them for the states that it is hard to get them into the dealer. OK Jack Miller owns 2 of the 3 Subaru dealers with in an hour of Kansas City. I just checked their inventory on line and collectively they have around 13 Seem like its hard to get them in. LOL Anyway I then called another dealer not as close to KC as i would like, but he quoted me 1k less then the other. I didn't even tell him I was looking anywhere else. I just said give me a quote on the WRX with my specs etc. Looks like the further drive will save me 1k at least. I just don't like B.S. lines about allotments etc. I own a 2001 MR2 right now and know all about the allotments to the US. 6K for the MR2 and i still get a better deal on that compared to what old JAck was offering. SHeesh they are pushy though. Late.

If I had it to do over, I would get a Canadian WRX (if the price was the same). Heated seats should be available in the U.S. market. SoA bungled. Anyway, Jack Miller is the only game in town. If you want to shop and compare at ALL you have to go out of town. If you go out of town, you might as well go out of country. Go to the great white north and have your break-in over with by the time you get home.
Airline tickets are cheap.

Yeah i know they are the only deal in town, and they act like it too. But its too bad at that. They would have sold me two cars if their dealers were straight shooters. Anyway they lost two sales from me. I am looking now at a Used A4 wagon sports package for the wife, and will wait a bit and possibly pick up a used WRX sometime next year? We'll see.

Well, if SOA brings an STI to America that is not watered down and I can get the same deal that I got on my WRX, I might upgrade to the STI. That would put my WRX on the market in KC. Would you give it a good home?

hey try www.huffinessubaru.com they are the dealer that sold me my Cobb tuned RS earlier this year. I got a much better price then my local dealer as I wanted a lot of the add ons like exhaust, strut bar and a slew of other ptions and Huffines came in with a price equal(remember I got Cobb package TOO) and I got two airline tickets for the wife and I to pick it up. It was by far one of the siest buying experiances. Chriss Flemming there is more of a sales assistant then a salesman as he only aids your purchase.

BTW the local dealer which is less than a miles away said subarus couldn't not even be ordered.

good luck.

Wink Anything is possible?

I could possibly give is a very good home as long as the break in period of 1k miles was given etc. The dealer i test drove with took it to the rev limiter to show off to me lol i was like um ok I am not buying this exact car, but anyway. What color is it and when would you be condsidering moving to deal it? I would love to get heated seats, who said to go to canada and do that??? I think i just might look into that. My family is up in Chicago so i would have a place to stop on the way back . Well thanks for the info. I found a dealer in Joplin MO i think that is more than willing to let me test drive up here in this are and deliver the cars directly to my door. Although i like to test drive before i get the car, i might have to opt that way. Really nice guy over the phone and no BS from any of my questions. Gives me straight answers and doesn't try to lead me in other directions. Ok thanks and late

Nectalover, i have no plans to sell anytime soon. As for the heated seats, it appears that aftermarket is the way to go for non-Canada models. Another thread figured it to be $800+ for just the switches and heating elements from the factory. This did not include a wiring harness. There is a group buy on an aftermarket kit for about $200. Both of these solutions require installation. It might be easier to convert a Canadian car with factory heated seats to U.S. spec than to convert a U.S. spec car to factory heated seats.

Smile EVO II

Well I was just on Edmunds.com and they have a thread that just came up about the subaru WRX Sti vs the Mistu EVO II. And some links on articles about the EVO. And um well I kinda really like the EVO looks and numbers up against the WRX Sti. So i think i am just going to wait this year and see if my MR2 sells this spring before i decide on Suby or Mistu. What color is your WRX i have seen a Blue one i believe around the Lees summit/ Blue springs area is that you? Well perhaps I'll see you on the road some time. Although my new MR2 can't compete with the turbo you have i would hang on your bumper through the twisties maybe??? Anyway Enjoy that WRX i just wish i could build a 5 car garage and load it up Ok i'll go back to dreaming now. Talk to you later.

I'm usually up by I-29 and Barry, but I drive all over. My car (until today) has dark 18" Prodrive P1s. It has a black LNR carbon fiber hood scoop and blacked out headlights. That should help you with a positive ID.

I am also an MR2 owner (91NA POS). If you go to kcmr2.com please don't say that I have a WRX. I'm trying to catch a thief over there.

Wink

I had a really good experience buying from Jack Miller. My sales guy was Steve Phefer (think that's how he spells it). I highly recommend talking to him. A good sales rep can make a lot of difference in how you view the dealership. I also found their parts guy and service managers really easy to work with (mod friendly). I moved to Springfield and have talked with the dealer here (Reliable Subaru) but I haven't tried their service dept yet. One of the sales reps. from Jack Miller also moved here and now works for Reliable. He is also awesome to work with. If you're buying in KC ask for Steve Phefer and in Springfield ask for Tory Meade. Just my two cents

Don't worry i won't tell them. I usually hang out on spyderchat.com and talk with those guys? Anyway what did the theif steal from you? Late

Um and about Jack Miller again. The sales reps make the image of the dealership. If they don't employ a quality sales staff, they get every bit of bad press they deserve, but glad to hear you had a good experience. First one I have ever heard of.

stolen headlights, headlight surrounds, door power window-lock switches, 6x9 speakers, stock shift knob and boot, and broken windows

The genius boogered up both windows trying to get in. The wires were snipped just before they go into the door switches. The stock shift knob wasn't even a leather one.
