Default need help and info.

Hello everybody. I don't know if anyone remembers but I was on here a little while ago because I got hydrolock and had some question about head gaskets and such. Well know that I've got the heads off I've come to find out that I can't move the crank shaft. In my Haynes manual it says that I have to take the Piston heads off before I can get the block (bottom end) apart. Well here in lies the problem. I can't move the crank shaft to get access to the piston pins.

Well, I've tried to remove the bolts that hold the block together but they seem like they don't want to break free. I'm afraid to use a breaker bar because my impack wrench hasn't moved the bolts either. Now what I'm asking is am I doing something wrong or missing a step because the manual is very vague and doesn't really answer a lot of questions that I have, and if I have to remove the piston heads who am I going to do the when the crank won't move.

Thanks for any help you can give me. Sorry if this is the wrong place to post but I figure I could get better answers here than on the tech forum because a lot of the questions there concern (geared toward) imprezas not legacies. Again thanks for any help.

Aaron

If you don't get much response, also post in the naturally aspirated forum. Sorry I can't help you myself.

I agree, you should maybe post in the N/A forum, there seems to be a lot of engine junkie that hang out in there.

But with my exp of taking an engine apart, once you have ALL the bolts out you still have to beat the hell out of the engine to get it part, I mean-really beat the hell out of it. I usually lodge the engine down somehow and go at it with some some sort of padding(I use several well placed layers of shop rags), and a rubber mallet.

Since you have hydralocked the engine it may take even more torque to the engine to get it apart
