Default Turbo XS TBE

What are the thoughts on the Turbo XS TBE system? Thinking about upgrading to stage 2 with their downpipe and then purchasing their cat-back exhaust to make it a full tbe system. Haven't seen many forums on it so thought i'd get your feedback. I'm looking for something louder and throatier than stock so i cna hear the car more while i'm driving it, but don't want to piss off the neighbors or draw unwanted attention either.

It is one of the better TBE out there. I am a bigh fan of the 4 inch downpipe. The RFL muffler also sounds great!

I have the Standard muffler with the Turboxs Turboback w/ highflow cat, its nice but with an intake i can hear more spool and sucking sound than the exhaust. But all my friends say from the outside it sounds like a jet engine with the spool and the deep rumble. I am happy the cops ill leave me alone

Definatley one of the better ones out there. I've installed this on my own car, while helping friends install "eBay specials", most of which are junk. You get what you pay for. In addition, the ability to swap out the cat to a race pipe for track days in under 20 minutes on ramps is a great feature. You don't really want to have to un-bolt the down the down pipe on a lift every weekend you go to the track. It's also extremely thick and solid, and mine has yet to show a bit of rust even in PA with 4 winters on it.

I've had one for over 4 years, first on my '02 WRX, and then transferred to my '05 STi. Great product!

siiiiiiiiiick, thanks guys, i think i'll start out with their stealth kit (tbe minus the muffler) so i can at least get to stage 2 then pony up the bills for their muffler later. Glad to hear it has lasted you all so long too. I just installed the first mod today (SPT intake, heat shield is in the mail) and next comes the accessport. After that i will def go Turbo XS. Thanks for the help!

I got it in 2001 and drove it stealth, since the muffler was in short supply. Very quiet, a little too quiet, and their muffler helps you drive "by sound" a bit better. The only time a cop qlanced at me whas after the donut gasket deterioriated. Put another one on and it's almost stealth until you go deep into boost.

I've had it for nearly 6 months and there have been no problems. The downpipe has changed colors, but I'm not really concerned with aesthetics. I imagine once I get a bigger internally gated turbo, I'll start to see the full benefits of the 4" inlet.

Just to comment on the sound: low-key when idling and keeping off of boost, and downright mean-sounding when I'm ridin' dirty.
