Post Which used Legacy Wagon to buy ?

Which used (1993-present) Legacy station wagons I should be looking at. Here are my criteria:

- 5 speed
- Engine has to be turbo "friendly" I would like to fit a turbo system to the car either
aftermarket or retrofit 2.2 ehxaust manifolds and turbo.

I will be transferring the following equipment from my 191 Galant VR4:
-HK$ EVC 3 boost controller
-Apexi Super AFC fuel computer
-Denso hi flow fuel pump (if it will fit)
-Denso 550cc fuel injectors - low impedance (again if they will fit)
-Autometer Boost / Oil Pressure / Voltmeter gauges
-EFI Fuel injector duty / air fuel meter
-HK$ turbo timer

If you have any suggestions as to which models and/or specific engines I should be looking for I would appreciate it.

Your best bet would to be to search AutoTrader.com for a 92-94 Touring Wagon.

It's turbo already and is the best of the breed.

A 5-speed is next to impossible to find in them though...

I know the non-5speed availability of a 92-94

I am looking to modify a (93-Present) body styled Legacy Wagon. I would buy an Outback Sport but I need more space !

So if you know of a CURRENT bodystyle please let me know.

I have already heard that a 2.2L is easier to turbocharge than the 2.5L (say in a GT or Outback)

The body change was in 95 here in the states, 93 just about everywhere else.

Just out of curiosity, what have you heard about making a 2.2 easier to turbo then a 2.5? What exactly is easier?

Correction .... sorry what I heard was that the DOHC was not as "turbo friendly" as the SOHC motors.

I would think that the 2.2L motors could easily take the manifolds and turbo from the previously mentioned 92-94 2.2L turbo motors .... maybe I am just being a naive (hoepful) newbie
