Default General BOV question

I have a JC Sports Kit on my '99 RS. It came with the Bosch BOV, which is piped off the turbo-to-intercooler pipe, then blown back into the intake tract. Last night I was just trying something and disconnected the BOV-to-intake pipe last night.

Now here's my question

At idle should air be comming out my BOV?

Also if I were to upgrade to a different BOV, what if any changes could I expect in performace? I'm running between 7-8PSI.

Thanks

It should be leaking air at idle. That's fine. The Bosch ones will do that.

Upgrading to a typeS GReedy or something along those lines may show improvement in drivability but not in horsepower. Blowing off more air (the GReedy is just bigger) may help your turbo stay spooled better, and also reduce the risk of compressor back spin..
