Subaru Banner 99 Leg Outback with 03 WRX suspension

Hey guys I have a 1999 Legacy Outback Wagon.
Soon to be putting on 17x7 5Zigen's + 03 WRX Wagon Suspension.

My question Are:

What kind of drop will I be getting with just the suspension.?

I dont believe I will have any rubbing issues
I'm sure someone has done it. Ill bet anything they did the wheels as well.. If anyone has any pics or comments please share.

What Sway bars will work? WRX sways work?

Ive been looking but yet to find any pics!

Thanks for your help!

Get the swaybar for your actual vehicle from IPD. I have a friend that put the 03 WRX springs on his 98 Legacy GT wagon. It looks sweet, but the rear sags just a bit. We are trying to figure a way to remedy that now.

That sway bar is a must though....I have it on my Outback and don't know how I went without it for so long!

So then i read that a Wagon WRX 03 mated with my 99 Outback Legacy is a good combo. AS i just got a full wagon set Top hats, Springs, Struts 30 k old.

But will i still have a sag? No one likes a saggy beast!

Ion has nothing on their site i emailed them looking to buy i hope i get a response!

Chuck

I just pice

Check IPD for the sway bar. That is where I got mine.

Judging from my friends 98 with the WRX suspension, yes...it will sag. But I am not sure if that is a fluke or not. Sorry I don't have a more definitive answer for you.

We are actually in the process of trying to figure out a fix for this. We are hoping to find a cheap set of used coilovers. That should do the trick, but who knows if we will find them for the right price (highly doubt it)

I will see if I can get some pictures for you.

Chandy69 - We had tried my '02 WRX Wagon suspension on my brother's Outback before he bought parts from iON Performance designed for his car, it was a night and day difference in handling and comfort. I've had Intrax on a previous car, changed it out after 2 weeks of use, absolutely one of the worst springs I've ever used. My cousin had H&R's on his Legacy with V5 Impreza struts, they handled pretty well. He ended up switching to the iON springs and with the V5 struts dropped about 0.5s off his previous best run on the same auto-x course.

I know that the people that have put the KYB GR2s on their outbacks at www.subaruoutback.org have been very happy with them. I don't know if the strut length is different with the Legacy struts you were looking at on ebay. I would look at KYBs website, and get the part numbers for your car, and check them against the ones on ebay, unless you are planning on getting lowering springs.

ok, so heres the deal, your wagon wont really "sag" but it will give the impression of a "saggy" butt due to the lowered stance and the wheel gap. if you measure the clearance it will be even, but we have so much front wheel gap to start with. here are some pics...

this is my car with 02 wrx struts and 02 wrx tien springs. notice how it "sags" in the rear, my car was level.. but looked "saggy"

this is my car with legacy GR-2's + rear 02 wrx wagon springs + 02 wrx tein s-techs. the wrx rear springs kinda jacked the rear up a little, so I have even wheel gap, even though the car is now "raked" (lower in the front than the rear)
