Default what changed about the SOHC heads in mid-2000???

I went into the dealership yesterday to get a new set of headbolts and he said that in the book it specifies 4 of one bolt and 8 of another for early 2000 heads and 12 of the same kind for late 2000 heads. Does anyone know the difference??? I wasn;t aware that there was one.

color, I would assume. my 99RS had 4 with red tops, they go in the center. the 8 with unfinished (grey) tops are on the outsides. they otherwise appeared to be identical 14mm 12-sided bolts, but I put the red ones back in the center. I don't know if there was a metallurgy difference, but the thread and overall length were identical.
