Default USDM STI TMIC on 06 WRX- Install Question

I just tried fitting a USDM STI TMIC on my 06 WRX. Everything I have read says it fits right in with the STI piping. Im not finding this. The elbow on the bottom of the intercooler interferes with the throttle position sensor (TPS), and the metal rib will hit where the connector goes into the TPS. I didnt want to force it on and cram the elbow into the TPS before I asked on here what other people did. My buddy was helping (hes a subie mechanic) and he said it didnt look right either and didnt thing squishing it like that would be right.

We can pull the perrin hose of my stock intercooler and cut it and it would work better as it doesnt have the metal rib in it.

To the guys that have done this swap....did you have the same issue and what did you do?

mine fit fine and didnt have any issues with it rubbing, i am using the stock ypipe/elbow/coupler that came with the sti tmic. i did this with my vf39 swap and 18g swap, even though the compressor side of the 18g was bigger it still fitted.

there shouldnt be any rub at all, something isnt right.

sleestak: thanks for the pic......is it bending the connector at all? I didnt bolt mine up just did a test fit and it looked like mine is a little closer then yours. What you show there looks like how the stock TMIC elbow sits. I might hat to just bolt it up and see what it does...maybe when I put it together it may fit better then the test fit looked.
