Default going to israel in a few days - any advice?

Yeah, I have crappy timing.

I'm going to Israel in a few days on a two-week trip, never been there before. My original itinerary was Tel Aviv, Dead Sea, Jerusalem, Tiberias, but that might need to change.

Any advice on what to see/do/buy/avoid?

I would see my travel agent and try to do something else like buy a flight elsewhere and avoid Israel.

It's seriously a very bad time to go there. I would not go unless i absolutely had to.

Eh, I could back out of my reservations, might be the smart thing to do, but I probably wont.

Do you have business over there? If not I would suggest Wyoming instead. Much safer.

It'd be the best idea to stay out of there. but if you have to go, try not to look like a tourist and keep your head low.

if you do go, be safe!

are you dying or something? just put off the vacation for a year or so. it'll be way more fun when you dont have to worry about dying.

I would not be travelling anywhere within the middle east right now, especially not as an American nor to Israel in specific.

well, its not that there is an immenant threat of death. israel for the most part is safe. the problem is that it is a vacation. who knows what might be closed and there is no doubt the local populus will be moody. i just dont think its a good time to try and go sight seeing.

this happens every 5-10 years. israel fights with its neighbors. they cool off for a few years, and then they do it again. its cyclical.

Seriously, at this point it's not just a bad idea, it's downright stupid and ignorant. I'd say the hell away, particularly with the crap going down in Israel right now. Unless you're planning to go and help, just stay away.

You'd have to make it one of those no-health-exams-we'll-insure-absolutely-anyone-risk-be-damned companies. But does life insurance cover acts of war?

Well, dying is always a worry. I was resuscitated when I went to DC for my birthday. So I'm not exactly healthy.
