Default When to get a pro-tune

I just finished on a fruitless search - looking for when is a good time to get a protune for my individual setup.

Currently, I have a 2005 WRX, with a turboback exhaust and up-pipe coupled together with a Stage 2 AP flash. Not much at the moment, but I actually do NOT plan on taking it any further at least until next year.

But, I have been eye'ing the idea of a protune for some time now... however I'm not sure if it's worth it. If I were to spring for it, here's what my mod list would look like (I'd get these installed and then protuned the same day, or installed sometime before)-

STi Intercooler (or even an Ebay one, I've seen some good reviews!)
IC hoses
Lightened Crank Pulley

I'm going to be going heavy into suspension upgrades in my next bout of upgrades, so I don't want to spend an extra $150-$250 on a protune if I wouldn't really gain from it. I really like the idea of the reliability factor, how the tune just puts the parts even more in sync with your individual car. But, as you can see, I do not and do not plan on getting a new turbo (at least any time soon).

Would it be worth it to get a pro-tune on the stock TD04 WRX turbo? When I come across the words protune, it almost always involves new turbos or at least heavy upgrades past stage 2. Would it be worth it. And, if you have just happened to know of such a setup that was protuned, how much would you expect to be gained in numbers?

I apologize for any newbish pro-tune questions that might have been asked. So flamers, be advised that I did search! Just looking for individual responses to a fairly detailed situation.

Thanks guys

I did a ap stage 2 flash on my 06 sti with a invidia n1 and catless dp and the off the shelf map was causing the car to detonate, lucky for me i live close to a tuner and he was able to do a tune session. When he did the first pull he car spun 307hp and 342tq and detonated at like 5800 rpm, and i am not the only one around who has detonation issues. I personally feel a pro-tune is the best and safest way to get the most out of your car.

I definetly hear that - I envy the reliability factor of the protune, even if it didn't increase the speed of the car by much. I'm going to be looking forward to this soon..
BTW - nice numbers!
