Post ok mechanics, help me please!

I got in my car today started it up and started going on my merry little way. I look down at the gauge and realize my emergency brake light is on as well as my battery light. I pulled off the road, turned off the engine and tried again, solving nothing...

The emergency brake was totally off, however when i would pull the emergency brake, the light would get a little brighter, but when i would let it down, it became dimmer again, but still on.

I looked in the owners manual and it said the battery light staying on could maybe meanthe battery charging system isnt working right.

i dont know if this would mean anything, but i have a security system installed as well as a 690 watt stereo system.

Whats my problem?

low brake fluid will also turn on the brake warning light.

I would check the brake fluid level 1st then bring the car in to check the battery light.

The seperation between the battery light and the brake light isn't very good. If the battery light is on it will slightly light the brake light. I guess you figured this out by now, but I had the same ?'s when my alternator went out.
