Default STi Titanium shift knob plastic adapter help!

Hey guys I just got my piston style STi titanium shift knob in the mail but it didnt come with the plastic adapter as the seller warned...I didnt realize it until now but I cant find the plastic adapter to buy seperately online...what are my options now? I really want this knob on the car!

what adaptor?? the plastic clip that holds the boot up? or does it have the inside threading on a plastic thing and you just have a hunk of metal?

There is a plastic piece that goes on the shifter that the knob threads on too. I have never seen that piece sold seperately. Best of luck to you.

im talking about the plasitc clip that threads into the shift knob so that it can screw onto the shifter tip and hold up the boot...any ideas?

You have a few options. Wrap rubber band(s) around the shifter threads and slide the boot over that, use rubber washers or o-rings, or a little more involved:

nope you are sol....that plastic piece is needed for the knob to hold on and they DO NOT sell them separatley....thats why my knob has been on my desk since 4 months ago with the plastic piece threads went out

thanks hank for the link...im actually a bit worried that the stock plastic piece will be too long since the Titanium shift knob is smaller and the threads wont reach the shift lever if I cut the plastic. But i'll give it a try anyways. Any other links?
