Default Upgrade to Utec Firmware v5... Hesitation Issue

Well I upgraded from v2.5b I believe to v5. Now I have hesitation issues when I get into Boost... Not sure if anyone else has this problem.

Its like when I get going and boost gauge hits 0 about to go into boost it bogs...
Ive set the delay to 0 and still have issues...

Anyone have any ideas?

I kinda remember the tech notes saying you may need to retune.

I'd strongly recommend if you are on stock injectors to put "ECU" in your timing map in the 10% column from 0 to about 3500rpm.

Make sure you have the right map in the slot used, and the right parameters for the map. If you still have a problem, post a log.

Shut off the closed loop fueling to use your old maps. Ver2.5b was one of the firmwares before that feature.
If you want to run the OLF you will NEED to retune the car.

I haven't tuned it at all. I just loaded up the Firmware. Loaded the Parameters, and the Map into Slot 1.

Went for a test drive and notice these issues.

Ah yeah... 2.5 is really old. You really need to turn on Open Loop Fueling and start from scratch on your fuel map. Your timing map may need some tweaking, though it should be close.

No turbo upgrade? Either way, ya might wanna try running a stage 4 map with stage 4 parameters and stage 3 boost levels(ie-16.5ish psi).

Oh yeah, VF30. one of the most important part ;-) And I forgot it!
Duh...

I'm not pushing it driving around. I just notice it when I'm dirving normally... Between shifts it gets to 0 and just bogs so I let off the gas to stay out of boost... It should be smooth transistion...

Well I decided to get my car professionally tuned next week. I talked to the tuner and told him about the issue I'm having. I got some logs, and notice that around 2500rpm and 2700rpm Injection Duty Cycle hits about 75%! and drops back down to normal at 3000rpm! Its when I usually feel the bog/hesitation into boost. This is about 12% throttle.

Well the tuner said i'm not the only one with that issue. There seems to be alot of other WRXs and a 350 with this issue when they upgraded to v5 firmware. Now one thing he did ask was about my intake pipe. I'm using a pipe that holds the sensor from pepboys. But the tuner suggested I go back to v4 firmware and contact TurboXS to get it.
So I called TurboXS after speaking with the tuner. The tech made me check my parameters, and settings and they were all good. And he also asked about my Intake pipe... But he didn't suggest I go back to v4 firmware. But told me I should get a new intake pipe....

Wondering what kind of pipes people using out there...

Anyone have any input on this?

I have a HKS BOV. I did the whole upgrade turbo, fmic, injectors, fuel pump on the WRX back in '03 and had v2.5b firmware.
I recently upgraded the intake pipe, and the firmware to v5.0 acouple months ago and been driving around with this problem. First I thought it was the BOV so I went back to Stock and recir back into intake. But still had issue. Then thought I has boost leak. But can't really check for boost leak... I just swapped maf sensor with my buddies WRX, and drove the same... I just purcahsed a Turbo XS intake pipe. Going to see how it works out. I should have it this Monday.

Here is a log from MPS Utec Logger
