Default Hydra: 26MPG

Just a FYI:

On a recent trip to GA and back, I got 26MPG.

Details:

* I did not in ANY WAY drive "to get good mileage". I really couldn't care less what mileage I am getting as long as it's above 20 (below which I would care because I'd bet something was not functioning properly). This was a test for kicks. I think I last checked my mileage a year ago.

* Incredibly minimal AC use. Unless it is 88+ outside, I almost always drive with my windows down, even when doing 70 on an interstate.

* 2002 WRX with STI hood scoop. Aerodynamics? What's that?

* STI RA gear set (full). RPMs were almost constantly above 3200 while cruising on the interstate in 5th for hundreds of miles.

* Hydra was set to closed loop fueling with AFR Target Table as the 'sensor source'. RPM range was only 1900-3200. Long-term learning was enabled.

* My fuel map has nothing tricky in it. My AFR Target Table map doesn't either. Very standard setup.

I also got around 25/26 mpg, driving from Maryland to Tennessee. Going mostly conservative, only busting on a couple high-winged hondas. Also, I have RA 5th gear. I was impressed. Phil made an excellent cruise tune. He specifically asked me what rpm/mph I cruise at and set it up accordingly.

wow that sounds pretty thorough. That would be helpful too.

This is good news, but I don't get why its surprising to get good gas mileage when you have closed loop on and its targeting 14.7(or whatever you have it set for), you should get good mileage regardless, because that is exactly what a stock car is doing too.

congrats though, that is good.
