Jedi mindtricks only work on the weakminded.
It has happened where a Jedi has fallen victim to a mindtrick before.

Hoping to have the car ready to attend events by mid June. I have a few things planned for it but will mostly be a slow car for me to drive hard around the course. I just need to get back in the seat. Work on lines, throttle control and car control in a car that isn't the STi.

After reading a few of our many AutoX related threads, it seems at the end of the year there is an awards ceremony, and at said ceremony if you qualify with 6 events, you can win in many different areas such as PAX, RAW, and class.
Am I correct?

As much as I love doing the events for fun, I'm also a VERY competitive person and would at least like to try for a class win.

Bring that up tomorrow at the driver's meeting Kyle. I don't want to spread incorrect information.

Alex, you have to do a ride along with meeee. New rear sway bar is amazing. Definitely recommend it if you want to stay D-Stock down in the states. I'm gonna try a HUGE fsb, but for now I'm loving the rsb.

If I remember correctly an aftermarket rear swaybar takes you out of stock class.

I stand corrected, new rules allow modification of any single sway bar

Cobb 25mm solid bar, adjustable with Kartboy endlinks. TOTALLY different from stock.

Yuppers, if I had both it would bump me out.
But as per rules:
You can have ONE sway bar and endlinks upgraded to keep you stock.
At the national level people use huge front bars instead of rears, so I'm gonna try that for a bit in the future and see why.

Not sure about the GR chassis. But typically the front sway bar is the more critical bar to
replace on the rear bias awd platform. Tends to reduce understeer versus promoting oversteer. You typically want your rear end a bit softer for traction purposes. In contrast to the Evo for example, they typically run a higher spring rate in the rear where as we have a softer rate in the rear to promote traction. Evos are front bias.

Anyways, I'm tdy in WV so I will miss yet another event. Good luck this weekend to all who can make it!

To follow up on my train of thought, I personally run my front bar full stuff and my rear bar full soft. Which promotes a More dart like feel ideal for autocross. Where as on road tracks a more neutral feel is preferred.

I hated having a huge rear swaybar with a stock fsb. It felt so unbalanced.. Hence the reason I made sure that was changed before autocross season with the RS.

My WRX sway bars measure 25mm front and 22mm in the rear.. They were replaced at the same time so I can't really say how each bar affected the handling of the car... My favorite upgrade on the 08 other then the bars was the rear subframe inserts.. Made a huge difference in how much the car squated in the rear during acceleration (damn weight transfer)... I felt less like I was taking off in an airplane and more like I was driving a car. Sort of like an ALK without actually being one. They're just a pain to install because you have to drop the subframe to install them.

I'm interested in coming down from Fairbanks for an PCA autocross this weekend, any info on how their events are? I'll be bringing a stock 91 miata. Mainly wondering how the high school site works for an autocross.

Thanks
