i believe it...AMS has so much money, and time sunk into that car. If they didnt eventually get 1000whp I would think something was wrong.

I seriously doubt 1000 hp. It doesnt look half as fast as the tsw evo.

Didn't they just bust 900whp a few weeks/months ago? What's so hard to believe about 1000?

Nothing. They were going to keep changing the turbos until they hit it. I am very interested to see the powerband though.

This is actually not the Shop drag car, this is a customer car that they just finished.

Shop Drag car: 988whp (2 liter + GT42r)
Black Florida Evo, customer car: 856whp (2.3 liter + GT42r)
Black/Silver Evo, customer car, also from Florida: 1000+whp (2.3 liter + GT45r)

The engine is a 4G64 block destroked to approx 2.2L. It is built to withstand nitrous and very high boost from the GT42r turbo. It is also built to withstand about 10,000 rpms. It has been built entirely by AMS and the setup is very similar (almost identical) to the 988 whp AMS drag car

wow this is his replacement car "I have a deposit on a 997tt for early fall delivery. My wife will not let me take delivery unless the Evo is gone. It's not a battle worth fighting as she's been very supportive of my car addiction."

At the time I made the post they were still saying "2.3 liter" I try to post up just what has been said by AMS at the time, because I don't want to "give away" anything that a customer or the shop doesn't want given away.

When I hang out in the shop with the camera, I have to ask what I can and can't post pictures of...

I had forgotten that the Pensacola Evo had gone 903.. those guys break this record every week it seems. The one I was there for was a 856, which is why I remember it. (btw, 856whp on a dyno run shuts my cell phone off, damn cheap phones)

Why are you guys hating? AMS is like one of the coolest companies out there. Everyone here starts hating when a guy w/ an STI w/ a GT35R goes out and runs 13's. Yet AMS puts a GT35R on a car that revs to 9-10k (having a BETTER powerband than many STI's w/ their STOCK turbos) and goes and runs low 10's with it. I don't even see any STI's w/ 2-step ignition systems on nasioc. Exedy didn't even make a twin-plate clutch for the STI long after it was available for the EVO.

AMS rules. Feel free to flame eachother to death on this forum, but please do pay respect when it's due.

I actually keep trying to talk Martin into doing some AMS Subaru stuff.. His reply? "I would love to but don't have the space."

The shop is about the size of a shoebox, fabriction area about 10x20 feet, and the guys work in two shifts.

btw.. AMS still reporting the 1000whp cars as 2.3 liters... Video being edited soon.
