Built Shortblocks and Motors:

Gruppe-S Stage 2 Super High Rev Motor $3499 + Shipping

Our Gruppe-S Stage 2 High-Rev engine is the ultimate in high RPM performance. With its shorter stroke and lighter pistons, this 2.1 liter engine (due to oversize pistons) has an extremely rapid response making the engine great for road-race and other competition racing. This engine starts off life as the semi-closed JDM STI shortblock. We tear this engine down and install our nitrided crankshaft, Helix forged rods with ARP L19 rod bolts, custom Wiseco forged pistons, and coated race bearings. The crankshaft is then professional balanced to within +/- 1 gram, cylinder walls rehoned, and everything re-installed with tolerances carefully checked. With our stage engines you will not have any problems with excessive oil consumption or rocking pistons. The block is semi-closed and can safely support up to 30psi of boost pressure without cooling issues (as opposed to closed deck blocks). This engine is perfect for the enthusiast looking for an engine that can safely rev to 8500RPM* and hold over 550HP.

Bolt on some good heads and this motor should be an absolute monster capable of holding 600+ CHP.



Gruppe-S 2.2L Stroker Kit for EJ20T - $1399 + Shipped

These are all the parts needed to build a 2.0L turbocharged motor (WRX or JDM STi) into a serious power making 2.2L stroker motor. This motor should be capable of holding 550 crank HP while revving to 7500 RPM if properly balanced. It includes the following:

-Custom spec Wiseco forged stroker pistons
-STi forged connecting rods and bolts
-STi forged crank shaft
-Gruppe-S coated racing bearings


Gruppe-S 2.5L Stage 1 Shortblock - $2599 + shipping

Our Stage 1 shortblock replaces the components we feel are most likely to fail in the USDM STi shortblock. This is essentially a bulletproof USDM STi shortblock and will compliment a GT30R, SZ55, FP Red , FP Green, or TD06-20G sized turbo nicely on 100 octane. WRX owners can benefit from this shortblock also since their heads will bolt right onto it; however, combining their heads with something like the Helix cams and valvetrain and this shortblock would yield something with peak power output similar to the USDM STi. In comparison to other companies' Stage 1 shortblocks, our adds coated race bearings and balancing to within 1 gram (JDM STi motors are balanced to within 7 grams).

Gruppe-S 2.5L Stage 2 Shortblock - $3599 + Shipping

We are pleased to announce the release of our second generation Stage 2 2.5L Short Block. The GS650 exemplifies all of our experience building and tuning high horsepower race and street engines. The GS650 has been installed on daily-driven cars that make over 600HP on the street, safely and reliably. These are the same cars that drive to the track, run sub-11 second times and are driven home. This block is capable of maxing out the GT35R turbo (ask MARKGSTI ).

The GS650 starts life as a regular STI shortblock. First we replace the weak hyper-cast stock pistons with custom spec forged units (coated). Not only are the pistons significantly stronger than the stock units the pistons are substantially lighter too. We then address the connecting rods. The rods are replaced with Helix forged H-beam rods held together with ARP L-19 bolts. The super-strong forged rods coupled with the best rod bolts available on the market allow for high RPM operation. The crankshaft is then modified with our proprietary techniques creating a crankshaft similar to the $2000 STI race crankshaft used on the WRC cars. The bearings are swapped out in favor of Gruppe-S coated race bearings. This addresses all the common main failure points of the stock STI 2.5 engine – spun bearings, cracked pistons, and damaged rods.

The entire assembly is then balanced. Piston walls are bored and honed, all tolerances are triple checked, and the assembly is professionally assembled. The end result is a big power engine that is capable of 8500 RPM operation* and holding 650 crank HP. That’s right, 165 HP PER A CYLINDER. The GS650 is purposely built to tight tolerances for street operation. You will not experience excessive oil consumption and you will not have a rocking issue with our pistons.

-7500RPM redline**
-30psi boost limit
-650HP reliable horsepower limit


*”Looser” race engines (not recommended for street use) are available – simply let us know if that is what you are looking for.

I posted on the other thread that's now closed. I was asking about the pick up price for a NON-catted DP since I wil be in Oakland from 7-26 through 7-31.
Geoff said it would be $329 picked which seems like the price for a catted DP.
So would it be $189 for the non-catted DP? And why is it the same price for shipped vs/ picked up? Are your sales taxes that high??

The other question was that flange on the uncatted DP. Is that for the external WG to dump back to the DP instead of being an open pipe and thus reduce noise? If it isn't, why do you say that it includes "external WG port'?

Sorry for the confusion. Obviously, I thought you were asking about the catted dp. The non-catted DP would be $179 picked up including tax. That is exactly what that flange is for.

is there clearance on the external wastegate part on the v3 helix downpipe?? to me it looks like it may be really close to the ac drip line or maybe even hit part of the firewall/ crossbrace

Are all Helix DPs going to have the EWG port on them now? I have no plans of going EWG, and don't want the clearance issues, leak possibilities, and flow disruption this would provide...

We do have a compatible ECU but not the wiring harness. You actually don't need the harness (if you're swapping into a WRX) and it's more difficult to do if you wire in a new harness. The extra wires for the AVCS can be spliced into the existing harness. The ECU would be $399 shipped.

There are no clearance issues whatsoever. Both of these parts have been test fitted / run on multiple cars.

It's tough to say since we've haven't really seen a blown one yet or had a chance to push one on a big turbo. I would guess in excess of 400 CHP.

All Helix DPs will have the EWG port on them from now on. There are absolutely zero clearnace issues, and the port will provide negligible flow disruption unless you're making 500+ HP (in which case you'd be running an EWG anyways). As far as possible leaks, the block off plate uses a gasket so this should not be a concern. Nonetheless, I definitely understand your hesitancy.

placed my order yesterday. These are awesome prices, Especially the catted which i got, $329.00 is insane.

Geoff,

I ordered from Mark yesterday and It seemed like he wasn't sure about an EWG on the catted V3's. Do the v3's catted come with EWG as well?

Unfortunately the sales price is no longer valid. The regular prices of $399 shipped for catted and $199 shipped for catless now apply.

These are all the engines that we have at the moment. We do get shipments in fairly regularly though. If you can wait another 4 weeks, try PMing us to see if we have received any more motors.
