Default overboost stage 2 sti question

First thing is that I found it very strange that Cobb told me that the accesport could read up to 18.9. I always thought it was up to 18.3, but they make the product not me lol. Well, I have a stage 2 sti, and I sometimes see a spike to 18.3 in fourth gear at wot. I thought it was not that bad, because the target boost is 17.5 +/- .5 psi. But, I would like to know if any of you have had this problem? I am gonna see if a lwg map helps, but hopefully there is another solution.

I had the same problem with my 04 sti. The AP read 18.3 ,which like you I thought was the max reading for the AP,but my defi boost was reading 21 psi!
So I went ahead and ported my turbo which helped control the boost better but didnt eliminate the creep completely. I then went and had the car dynotuned ,which took care of the creep issue. The tuner adjusted the wastegate duty cycles and it worked. The car made 305awhp/328awtq on a dynojet!!! All stock except for the ap and aps 3" exhaust. Good luck.

Haha your car sounds like a beast. I am thinking of a protune, but not for atleast a 5 months. I just hope that .3 psi, occasionally, will not cause severe damage in that little time.
