I keep an insane amount of data on my cars.

Fun fact: The worst gas tank did NOT occur because of an autocross. I think it was just cheap gas. Actually, my last couple of autcross events have yielded better-than-average MPG.

I'm sorry i was reading this and had to notice what the average price of gas was only 6 years ago...Average Cost per Gallon: $1.369

HA! God that would be nice nowadays. Average price of 93 octane only 6 years later is closing in on $4.00 a gallon, thank you OPEC...

I have a bad o2 sensor atm so I'm only getting 18 mpg or so, but before it broke 23 seemed to be about my average.

32 MPG is my best, shifted at 2500 rpm then 350 miles of cruising at 60. 12 would be my worst, it was a sad day going through a 14.9 gallon tank in 150 miles

Since the switch to summer gas I've been getting between 22 and 24 mpg with mostly city driving and a little highway. Basic vf34 bolt on 2.0 wrx.

This probably is unbelievable to everyone, I still can't believe it myself...

I drove from Cincinnati, to Burlington VT at the begining of march, and from Cincy, to Syracuse NY I averaged ove 44 MPG

This could be due to a lot of things...
A. I changed my tranny and rear diff. (Royal Purple)
B. I changed my oil (Mobil 1)
C. I changed my spark plugs (NGK Iridium)
D. I used my cruise control, and drafted other cars using theirs (75 MPH)

I stopped for gas with my odometer reading 450 Miles and only needed 11 gallons... I didn't believe it, so I check my odometer with the road signs for the next 200 miles, and it was the same...

The Highway is pretty much flat through Ohio into New York, I still averaged about 35 MPG from Syracuse through upstate New York.

Drafting really helps. If anyone had the will power to draft 18 wheelers on long trips they could hit 40mpg without using 5th.

5spd WRX Stg2 tuned with ARC Intake box running 93 oct

Usually hitting 300 - 315.

$45 a tank and it lasts me 2 to 3 weeks.

I live only 2.5 miles from work with a few lights, but it's all 65mph highways. So I guess it's Highway city driving

Have you checked your math? I just drove 2K miles with fresh plugs, oil, diff, air filter and couldn't break 28 mpg on a trip to Montana. Were you chained to a car in front of you, or do you have a sail on your car?

it's going to vary. i average about 24-24.5mpg with a good mix of city and highway running Stage 2 w/ an OTS map. Thats with a decent amount of WOT while merging onto highways. I've seen as high as 31mpg, but that was really pussyfooting the car around.

Worst mileage seen so far? 4.8mpg.

Cool 05' Stage 1 Wagon

I have a 2005 wrx wagon that is stage 1 right now. It has 64,000 miles and was just serviced with new plugs, trans and diff fluids.

Over the weekend I drove 160 miles to a bike race averaging around 62 mph {too many tickets}. I topped the car back off immediately and it used 5.5 gal. That comes out to 29.09 mpg which was mostly highway miles. I shifted below 3500 rpm's everytime but I was still very happy with that.

It's hard to beat the mileage and fun factor combination with these cars.

yep, 450/11= 44.25MPG... and i was drafting nearly the whole time, used cruise the whole time, and i forgot to mention i put z-max fuel and oil additive...

I saw that mythbusters, and yes by tailgating a semi you can get like 50MPG+... i think 44 is pretty good...

My STi gets about 320 a tank. Granted, I have a 20g turbo, so I get a little better gas mileage then some will.
