Default how to get rid of rev limiter?

i have an automatic rex..yes i know why..only one in the dealer and got it for way under the invoice..any way when I launch I hold the gas and the brake at the same time..however it will only rev to 2 and a quarter and sometimes it will go past it but the farthest it went was 3 grand..I just want to break into the 14s..if I can launch at 4 grand my car is def to do so..at 3 grand I ran 15.2 with everything stock except for the 17s and re070s..anyone know how to get rid of the rev limiter?

That doesn't help with launching an auto? That's what drag racers do. Is it different with AWD?

It helped me with my reaction time. A friend of mine does that taking his 380'd Chevelle into the high 11's every weekend.

That's what I'm talking about....If you apply the brake and mash it while you're waiting on the other dik head to stage...you're just burning up your fluid.....

If you wanna get rid of the revlimiter so you can rev higher on the line against the brake, then that tells me you don't know what the hell you're doing.

The car has made peak torque long before the revlimit...why are you wanting to rev it higher? Please don't answer that question here....take it to the transmission&gearbox forum.

i dont think he wants to rev it to the redline but higher than he can seem to get it at the moment which is like 2-3k he wants it to go to 4, which on a wrx is about hitting boost

the issue is your stock parts cant handle that, so you do it to many times trying to hold back your car with stock brakes while hitting boost = breaky breaky

What you need in order to launch at a higher rpm is a high stall torque converter, and a tranny oil cooler to keep things in check. As for how strong the tranny is...from what I know auto tranny can take way more abuse than the manuals...you should be fine...especially if your car is stock...you don't have to raise the redline as the car is not making power past the stock redline...do those things, and you'll be in the 14's for sure...
