I installed my AP stg 1 93 oct map yesterday, I have a 05 sti with no mods. I like most contemplated whether or not it was worth the $600 or so bucks for just 20-25hp. I quickly realized after driving around that it was so much more than just a hp & torque gain, it was also the delivery of both. 1st & 2nd gear feels much smoother.(not so herky-jerky) When on the hwy car seems alot more responceive @ WOT. When reading in these fourms alot of people have said that stg1 is a joke, IMHO i feel quite the contrary.

No it definitely improves how the car drives. but as far as power gains it is a joke, if thats what you bought it for. Dynos prove it doesnt add much. But from what I read everyone buys the AP to go to Stage II straight away...I know thats what I'll be doing

True it dosen't add a ton of power. But my point was it does much more than that. 20-25 crank hp, and 34ft lb of torque not too bad to start with. Look @ the power curve's a you see what i mean about the delivery.

Im sorry I was thinking of the STG I for WRX's. I didn't know that it added that much for STI's. Pretty nice.

For both wrx's and STi(I)'s the ap makes driving so much better. I got mine and it was one of the best things that I could have done. I instantly flashed stage 2 and the difference was insane. The car is so much smoother and the power is much sweeter.

I had an AP on my '04 WRX. Right now I'm saving up for another AP for my '06 STI. I'm going right to stg2 as I did on my WRX.

Stage 1 on an STI def makes a difference.
I have buddies who have 04's that are practically stock and then drive mine and fee like it is a different ride .

Cant wait for stage 2 with the full Cobb TBE!!
