hey guys, i have an 02 WRX and im using an AP for basic tuning. It's doing good, but when i bought it my friend had told me that he had once found a map online that included my mods and was more specific that just the stage 2 map.
I have an Injen cold air intake, 2.5in. up-pipe, 3" down pipe, and Greddy evo II 3" exhaust, underdrive pulleys, lightweight flywheel & stage 1 clutch although i dont think the pulleys and clutch assembly affect my tuning much. if anyone knows of a better map than the stage 2 that i could download please tell me

Your CAI is bad for the Cobb map. Just read their notes for the stage 2 map. Quoted from their notes
"For use with a stock turbo, stock injectors, stock intake and a TURBOBACK exhaust system. Additional modifications such as uppipe and underdrive pulley are still within the acceptable parameters of this mapping. MUST USE FACTORY INTAKE. NO AFTERMARKET INTAKES ARE CERTIFIED COMPATIBLE WITH THIS MAPPING. Best if used with 91 and 92 octane. If any knock is present even when using 91 octane, try using the California specific map which addresses lower fuel quality situations." |

i emailed one of their techs and after about 2 weeks he finally got back to me. he didnt say it would have negative wear on the car but he did say i should expect a rougher idle. i run the 93 oct map.
My main question wasnt really whether it would have adverse effects to performance or life of the car but more or less seeing if anyone had maybe a protune map i could download or like my friend had said when i ordered the AP was that when he got his like 2 years ago there was a specific map with all the same stuff done and i was wondering if anyone remembers seeing a map like that on their site, or maybe still had it on theirs. |
