Garage In Winter or Leave It Outside?
i have been keeping my impreza in the garage pretty much
since i have got it, with winter quickly approaching, does it make
more sense to keep the car inside or to leave it outsite...
reason for my question is that with the amount of road salt they
apply on the roads here in ontario, is it better to park the car in
the garage, where the slush/snow/salt usually melts off
somewhat, or leave the car outside where the slushy/salt stuff
just freezes on the car....
what is the best thing to do to avoid and chances of
premature rusting body wear etc...
i would like to ideally have it inside so i dont have to brush off
snow from the car every morning....
any opinions would be appreciated...

I would never leave my car outside again. No snow to brush off,
no freezing rain to chip off, never have to plug it in. Take the car
to Krown or Rust Check or oil spray every year, wash it at a spray wash once a week and you shouldn't have any problems.

Typically, you'll be okay to leave the car inside as long as it's not a heated garage.
A few degrees warmer than outside is fine (and expected), but parking your car @ 20C after rolling around in the snow would not be good.
As SubaruStu mentioned, rustproofing and washing your car regularly is the best way to avoid problems.

I agree with Skeandhu and Subarustu...
I've garaged my talon in the winter without problem, you're protecting it from the worst condition!! Wash it at least every 10 days or after a heavy snowstorm or "slush" commuting. This way, the salt and sand won't get stuck on your undercarriage. It's a cheap 5$ a wash for keeping your car a long time... Heck, I kept my old 85 Cherokee garaged most of its life and it still going strong!
I'm planning to do just that with the REX. It's gonna cost me a truckload of washes if I do too much snowy parking lot drift...
One more thing, give it a good, thick waxing before the winter. Especially the newer model, the paint seems awefully thin...
