Default How much horsepower from TurboXS Unichip and BPM GT turbo-back exhaust?

Hi,

I've got both on order, and was wondering if any of you out there know or could guess at the horsepower I'd be running with the above?

Thanks,

Mike.

at least 227 at the crank. I could not resist. But I hear that the chip is good for 20-30 and the turbo back for like 15-20hp.

and the combo +or- 270hp

But you will have one fast little car.

I don't know right now, but I'll let you know in a few weeks!

Turbo XS dynoed at 265 hp with the Unichip and rear muffler section. So, I would assume at least that much.

I have the BPM GT turbo back and will have the Unichip sometime around 11/9. The exhaust alone made a noticeable difference.

With the three mods: Intake, Exhaust, and Chip, the car will be completely transformed.

Default 285 maybe?

With Mark's chip and a BPM I would wager 280-285. Between the chip and the exhaust that engine should really start breathing. His chip does all the right things in all the right places. I bet that dual outlet downpipe really smokes with his program.

Thanks for the opinions, everyone!

Yeah, I was hoping for around 270-ish.... Looks like I should get there...

At 6,000ft altitude I should be able to give some Mustang GT's a run for their money.

Now all I need to do is sit tight, and pray that I'll pass emissions in 3.5 years!

Default Lean Fuel and cat

Well, since the BPM has a cat and the UniChip removes so much of the richness from the car, I imagine you will probably be ok. If not, putting the stock system back on is really not a big deal with a floor jack and jack stands. Plus, like you said, its 3 plus years from now. So enjoy, and put it back stock for emissions if you have to.

JaMa

PS with a BPM and a UniChip, Mustang GT's are a joke not a challenge at 6000ft

I just put in my unichip and I have a BPM GT and Injen intake.
The car doesn't seem that much faster than with a MBC until you hit 3rd gear. From there the car flys. Definately at least 270 horsepower. I think mark said 275. I think the intake helped alot too. Runs with those pesky Supras now. My best with the intake exhaust and MBC was a 13.7 at 97 MPH. I now expect a 13.4 or maybe better. I love this car. I just smoked one of those WS-6 Trans-ams and I had a buddy in the car with me. Not by much, but enough to make me very happy.

Yeah non-turbo ones hang with Civic Si's.

But really, a stock TT Supra runs mid 13's. But once upgraded...

When I was looking to buy a car I looked at Supra TT and my Rex. I love Supras. The problem with the Supra is that to insure it hear in NJ will cost me 6k a year. I'm only paying 1,200 for my Rex. SO I have 4,800 to spend on mods each year. HAHA That's what I told my wife.

This year BMP GT=1000.00
Uni-chip=700.00
Defi Gauges= 800.00
Volk Wheels = 2600 with tires

I'm at 5,100.00 Only broke the bank for 300.00

(I don't count anything under 400.00 to my buget HEHE, ie turbo timer, BOV, Air intake, Tint,)

And can get to work when it snows. And don't get every guy in a stang or camaro wanting to race me.

I just got back from the import - domestic drag wars at Great lakes dragaway. There were many modded supras running, and most of them run low 13's. They can run faster oh yes, but it requires front mount intercooler and new turbos or single turbo conversion. Yes it's easy, but it costs some cash. If I did all that I would run mid 12's too. When I say run with I mean run with, not blow them away or anything like that. Have a little faith in our cars. With the right driver and mods you will soon see them in the 11's. Eclipses are easy to put in the 11's and 12's and they are also all wheel 2.0 litre. The WRX is too new. I guarantee I will run mid 12's when I put another grand together. All it takes is bigger turbo (waiting for them to go down in price) and STI or equivelant fuel injectors (also too expensive right now).

I've raced a few Mustang GTs and have done pretty good, for stock . I will hit about 120 in 4th gear and then I will start pulling away in 5th. But I live at about 1200 feet so that may play a large role.
