Default Deep pockets

You better have deep pockets if you want to turbo an LS1 vette. Several companies including Lingenfelter Performance and LS1 Motorsports( 812 - 949 - 0334) put turbos on LS1'S. The problem is that LS1s don't like boost because of their relatively high compression ratio. Most turboed LS1's have Head /Cam work done to lower the compression ratio making it safe and reliable. A stock LS1 can't handle more than 4-5 psi of boost safely.
If I were you I would just get a good set of Stage 2,Ported Heads and a good matching cam. Along with all the basics, header, exhaust, intake, etc, you can make 450hp easy. The car will also be very safe and reliable.
FWI - The Lingenfelter Stage 1 Turbo Kit for LS1 is over 20K.

LPE also has a 427 kit. They increase displacement of your engine to 427cuin and viola! it develops 650 normally asperated horsepower. They charge you $25,000 for the pavement ripping power Or you can go with the Twin Turbo setup from LPE for the same price for the same power. The acceleration ons top speed vary greatly! And last but not least you can go for a combination of the two kits for a shiznit load of dough and hit warp 2!

It's just a matter of how deep your pockets are...
