Default spool and w/g maps

On the 04 wrx the w/g duty maps start at 2380rpms. Has anyone tried lowering this number (2200 maybe) with the same value to see if it has an effect on spool up?

bump for a good question. I'd do a VF39 swap if this could be done.

I guess you have ST, right??

2200rpm for stock turbo is still pretty starting point since it can spool fast from lower rpm. I have 18g turbo, so i set up my WDC's rpm column to (2400,3100,3500,3800,4200,5400,6300,6800). In this way, i have more control when turbo hits full boost.

Awesome. So when do you hit full boost?

I don't think lowering the rpm will change the wastegate duties at all. Once you go above or below the rpm range, the ecu uses the values from the last row before you go over or under the range. Values in-between the range are interpolated, though. Tuners will modify the y-axis of the boost map if they want more resolution in a certain rpm area.

boost map starts at 1600 rpms.

WGDC map starts at 2380.

While interpolate values should work, what is the value for rpm and WGDC below these cells?

Like I said, interpolation is used between the ranges. Outside of the ranges, the values in the last row (or column depending on what you are looking at) are used. So, for example, WGD% values at 2380 rpm are used for everything under 2380.
