Default Are there no accessports??

A tuner I called the other day mentioned to me that if I wanted a pro-tune, that I would have to get the accessport. But he mentioned that no matter where you look, they are on backorder everywhere. Is this true? If so what should I do about it?

And can someone explain to me what a "pro-tune" is? If you have the AP unit, what do you need for a pro-tune (Im assuming just money for dyno tuning, and possibly the cost of porting your wastegate to ensure a longer engine life)

Pro-tune just means tuned by a professional on a dyno. Check out the vendor classifieds on this forum, there are almost always vendors there with cobb AP's in stock.

edit: fine line imports, for example, has overstock.

So, with a pro-tune, they use their computer's and simply make a map on the dyno and send it to the AP? So its like a map you can switch on or off, almost like just downloading it from the website? In a way..

We have most APs in stock. There is a shortage of APs because of a shortage of the LCD displays. Cobb is doing their best to keep supply steady.

Basically, yes... it is on your access port in case you need to reflash it, for example to revert to stock and then back. They come with OTS / canned maps on them for staged upgrades, but the tuner clears them out and uploads his.
