Default I am getting old and am completely out of "it" whatever it is.

I usually am aware of pop culture, moreso movies than music. I would always find it amusing when people would mix-up actors and movies. Like my brother-in-law has no clue who's who in any movie. (cuz he falls asleep 5 minutes into EVERY movie.)

well recently i was watching a preview for Lady in the Water...and i look to my GF and say, Didn't we see this preview last year? It didn't seem THAT scary THEN.

She looks to me and says "that was AQUAMARINA, DUMBASS..."

oopsie.

yesterday I watched Blast from the Past, with Alicia Silverstone, on one of those cable channels, cuz nothing else was on.

the credits roll and I was like....WAIT, that WASN'T Drew Barrymore???

I think it's a sign of getting old, right?

Don't sweat it. It just means that you're focusing your energy on more important things in life. Pop culture is stupid anyway.

It gets better, soon you'll only be listening to talk radio and classical, like me.

I could come with a dozen different ways that I'd rather die than listen to pop radio. If I'm taking a trip somewhere and someone else is driving, I'll drive myself if I know that they're going to have the radio on top 40.

The first step down that sad path is listening to the John Tesh radio program. "Intelligence for your Life" or something.

You were right actually, they redid the script because it sucked.

I thought the same thing too.

Actually you're right.
The preview for Lady in The Water from last summer was different than it is on TV now and did not give any hint of being scary at all.

I thought the exact same thing upon first seeing this new variant of the same preview.

other favorites...

Grandpa: My Homer is not a communist. He may be a liar, a pig, an idiot, a communist, but he is not a porn star.

Marge: Grandpa, this flag only has 49 stars on it
Grandpa: I'll be deep in the cold, cold ground before I recognize Missourah!

Grampa: "Homer, you're dumb as a mule and twice as ugly!

The story of the Simpson family began in the Old Country. I forget which one exactly.
