Default Quick realtime map question

Just had a quick question here regarding the AP and realtime maps. I've been using an AP for about a year now (for a while on my 02 WRX, and now on my 04 STi), but I have never encountered having to do this before. Right now, my base map is Stage 2 93 oct. for my STi. I am going to be getting Protuned with a regular 93 oct map, but also having a second map made for 93 + meth/alky injection. If I run out of meth/alky, I am going to switch back over to the regular 93 oct map so I won't have any problems. Now, I am wondering one thing. I will have the Protuned 93 oct map as my base map - flashed to the ECU. I am assuming I will have the meth/alky injection map as a realtime map, so I can switch it on and off when I'd like. After you put a realtime map on (so I am using protuned base map + meth/alky realtime map), how do you take it off, so you aren't running any realtime maps? Someone had mentioned "Reset the ECU". I didn't know if that got rid of the base map, or if it only cleared CEL's, or what. I just want to make sure so I don't end up doing something I shouldn't. I never really switched between realtime maps before, so I haven't encountered this issue. Thanks!

The Accessport has an option to reset the ECU. Or you can do a "hard" reset. Which is basicly disconnecting the battery. I just use the Accesport to clear realtime maps. Its just a lot easier.

So you do just use the "Reset ECU" function? That's what I thought, but I wasn't too sure

Yup. After that your realtime map is gone, but the base remains.

Just have them create a RealTime map of your Protune base map . When you want to get rid of the alky rt map just apply your non-alky protune rt map. The Protuner and streettuner software allows you to make a realtime map from any base map.

If you do a reset you lose all your ecu learning parameters.

Technically you can't create a realtime map OF a basemap. You can capture the basemap boost, timing, fueling tables as a realtime map though.

So basically you want three things..

93 Oct Base Map
93 Oct Realtime Map
93+Meth Realtime Map

Where's the technical part that's not possible? Looks like you just stated that it is possible.
