I submit that this does make buying easier if you are looking for a very specific item, but I like to browse through the latest stuff and despise having to look through alot of different threads now. I can see the benefits but I happen to prefer the old revision.

My suggestion is to add a "WANT TO BUY" sub threads in each category.
Like, if i am selling, I would know where to find buyers directly.
Or if i wanna buy something and cant find any, I'd post in the want to buy section and wait for sellers to contact me, otherwise, my thread will be buried unless i bump it everyday.

just my 2 cents

good idea - but i'm leaning more towards keeping it the way it was. that's what the search function is for.

so if I had a partout thread, like I currently do, can I re-make new threads in each corresponding group w/ out fear of mods deleting them?

So will there be a part out/multiple sale listing?

Personally it's taking me longer going through each section.

Guess I'll have to try and conform....

It's nice that they're broken up. If you're looking for something it'll be easier to find.

But I used to surf the for sale forum and if something caught my eye, I'd click on it.
Now I can't do that. Therefore I hate the new setup.

I'm more of an impulse buyer. I don't go looking for something.

is there any way to search the for sale thread by state? like i just want to show the parts being sold in NY i would search the title for NY. but that is to short of a word, any way to lower the number of letters in a word to seach for.

Its another thing I suggested a million years ago...

But i'm sure the forum would implode if there were a nice search engine, or even a mandatory text field for location or drop down of the states... with a simple script that pops up an alert when you don't write/pick a location. Just think, you could do away with the silly regional classifieds, just link to a page listing only ads from member states.

But, that would all make way too much sense.

Why would we get rid of the regional classifieds?

What if you don't feel like shipping and only want pickup?

You wouldn't be getting rid of them, just replacing them with something different... more organized, and easier for buyers to navigate and sellers to reach those buyers. Ship / pickup could be another required field like the location... other good fields would be FS or FT etc etc...

Here's what I have trouble understanding. Why do people insist on posting in the Private For Sale classified, which the whole country views, and demand pick up?

For example, there would be a good deal on wrx rims in southern california but in that post it would say "local pick up only!" EVEN THOUGH SOCAL HAS IT'S OWN PRIVATE CLASSIFIED SECTION JUST LIKE EVERYONE ELSE!

For real though, can there be a sticky about using the regional classifieds if you don't want to ship? It kinda makes sense to post locally if you want to sell something but don't feel like shipping.

^^Yea, but you might wanna 'prefer' local....lol

Then if someone offers extra $$ for shipping..well there goes the dealbreaker there...

I guess we'll see how all this pans out....

But I still am curious as to where I'd find out the part out thread?

What if I wanna snatch up that 2.5 06 wrx goodness?

I'd have to find that guys thread by doing a search and bidding on every item in different sections.

Also I'm sure it'll make a lot of sellers/buyers here a specialist/guru in no time...

you know there is a way to have one big personal for sale forum, but when a new thread is created it is given a specific label like 'suspension' that is represented by a small logo on the left side of the post.
you can then view all posts together (which is how i prefer to browse) of you can choose to view only 'suspension' or only 'engine' or whatever else... its kind of the best of both worlds.
vb.org for more info... hopefully you'll consider it.

I usually sell multiple items at one time, and right now I have clost to 50 miscellaneous items. Can there be a category added for a lump of parts or will I have to make a seperate thread for each and every item?

id like it if people would post their state code in their thread title. i dont mind paying for shipping, but id rather buy stuff from 2-3 states away than across the nation.

That would be nice too. Over on rs25.com, they give you a field to put in your zip, so when you're checking out a thread, you can see how far the item is from you.

I have two suggestions. A dedicated suggestion forum
and have people leave their prices up after they sell. A lot of times, I won't know how much the going rate is, so I research to see what it's sold for in the past, and the ***hole edited out his price!

First post edited and title updated.
The main PFS forum is now CLOSED TO ALL POSTS INCLUDING REPLIES TO EXISTING THREADS.
Everyone must now use the sub-forums. If you have an existing thread in the general FS that qualifies to be moved to a sub-forum (must be for items in only one category) you may PM a classified mod or just use the "report bad post" button and in the comments box ask for the thread to be moved. If the thread meets the criteria it will be moved for you, if it does not you will have to start new threads for your items.
I am going to ignore any further PMs about "why can't I post in the classifieds" since this sticky is right there in your face.
