Default Made the guy at the NTB counter all teary eye'd..

..I told him I got the tires at tirerack.com

it was pretty upsetting, but that's not where things happened.

After he was done with the MP5 as he was ringing me up he asked about the picture on my dashboard. Asked if it was me standing with the bike..

It was the memorial card from Ed's funeral of him standing in yellow/black riding gear behind his motorcycle.

I told him it was my brother who passed away in November.. that it was a suicide.

Turns out his 24 year old brother passed away 3 weeks ago from "accidental self inflicted wound" but basically the same circumstance.

He was pretty upset, eyes teared up while overcharging me for tire mounting. Given, I was tearing up a little too.. didn't want to spend that much!

I'd give everything I have to not be in that period of my life again.. I don't remember most of the first month after Ed passed. Overwhelming is an understatement.

It's bothersome how common this is, and how many people have to live through the aftermath for the remainder of thier days.

Don't be stupid people.
your poor choice ends for you right there.. but everyone else will be living in the situation you created without you.
My brother had far more potential than I do.. He was the responsible problem figure out'er, I used to take a lot of advice from him in dealing with my misc situations.

Important Words, Fishy. It's good to see you've come out of the rough place and are getting by. You have a lot to offer to people struggling with similar circumstances.

Yeah, I got the rundown on that.
tirerack+$15 is the actual offer they have.
And I don't know if it's actually +15 per tyre (for SharkB8) or +15 for a set of 4.

but I had the tires, was all after the fact for me.

But in an order to satisfy the ghost of Sirkbac.
I've been farting for days now, cleared the office yesterday.
I'm sure he could have done better, I've yet to get anyone to vomit due to my flatulence.

He did give me a discount actually.. usually they are supposed to charge a "fee" for tires that weren't purchased through them.

he waived that for me.
was still fargin expensive tho.. I could have started investing in a used mounting rig with that money.

I thought for sure it was going to be because you had him going over the car extra-long to correct that rattling muffler bearing

It's $15/tire. Not a bad deal at all. NTB's regular prices are like $100/tire over tire rack...scary. I was going to buy from Tire Rack, but Luke never returned my email or voicemail.

Good post...quality mix of car guy humor, sobriety, OT fascination with bodily functions, grief, acceptance, and '80s pop culture reference...would read again...A+

fish-

the month after ed died, i found that you were remarkably composed. frighteningly so, almost.. i think you were just kind of on "autopilot" on the outside. there's a guy at work who keeps joking about killing himself. i told him two things: i said "it's the guys who never talk about it that actually go through with it, so i'm not that worried about you."

and i also said

"if you think that killing yourself will alleviate the burden you place on your loved ones, you couldn't be further off the mark. you singlehandedly put an enormous group of people through the most difficult time of their lives by removing yourself from theirs."
