Default limp mode, car hates me! Help!

I have a 2004 subaru wrx 2.0, cold air intake, turbo back exhaust, pretty much stock. If I start the car it will drive normaly for about 60 to 90 seconds, then my idle will raise from 900rpm to 1300rpm and my engine will not let me rev above 4500rpm. this problem just started randomly and doesn't look like it wants to go away on it's own. I can't get a hold of a scanner 'till saturday and I would really like to have my car in good health before then. thanks for any help!

Ok, so I'll be the first to ask...

Why the cold air intake? Are you running any sort of EM with that 04 since you have a TBE? Any CELs? The trouble codes will help diagnose the problem easier so bring em on back when you get them because this problem could be cause by a number of things.

Pull the CEL code. Car will not run in limp mode unless CEL is ON. Stop by Schucks or Autozone and have them pull the code for you. Then let us know.

I have somewhat similar problem. But on mine i dont have any CELs.

as long as i keep the car above idle it will not go into limp mode. I turned the car off let it sit for a couple mins then went straight onto the highway and could rev as high as i wanted for about 30 mins, then I hit some traffic and as soon as my car saw idle it went into limp mode/high idle. any clue as to what my car is up to? thanks for the help so far.

Mine is in limp mode and CHECKS GOOD on full ODB2 scan. No codes or pre-codes WTF?

Asuuming Limp Mode is what is limiting my boost to 7psi. Thoughts?

FIXED:MINE WAS BAD GAS>>>>>>

You have an 04, and you're running a TBE, CAI with no EM???

Something was bound to happen. Let us know what the codes are when you scan it and maybe someone can help diagnose the problem.

My recommendation would be to get EM in the very near future.
