Default ?WRX 16" rims fit on 1998 Outback Sport???

Will the stock WRX 16" rims fit on the 1997-2000 Outback sport?

Anyone know what the offsets are off hand?

I don't see why not?

I'm pretty sure the WRX Rims are a 53mm offset with a 5x100 Bolt pattern, just perfect for your OBS.

Default Thanks for any answers....

By the way - yes I did a search and yes I found some info ... the most confused threads imaginable.

What I found -
Subaru measures offset differently than some (all?) tire manufactures. They measure to outside of lip resulting in an offset that is about 8mm greater than what is typically published to bead measure.
Example - Enkei says wheel 40-45 offset while Subaru says 48-53 (for 16x7 wheel I THINK...again threads were a mess).

Stock WRX wheels is 53 OR 55mm (two different answers).

Stock Outback sport steel is 55mm (?)

So, I think that the OSB will handle a WRX 16" just fine. Anybody disagree?

1. Stock WRX wheels are ET55.

2. Offset is offset. It has nothing to do with the lip. It's the distance between the centerline of the wheel and the mounting plate. I don't know where you read about Subaru measures it differently, but I think it's BS.

Thanks,
And I agree w/ the Offset is Offset deal - it should be a defined thing.
I read about the discrepancy multiple times in the I-club archives from 2001-200 where guys were running 42 Enkei, 48 Blah, etc which they measured to really be 50, etc. The search I used was
"Outback and Offset and Wheel" I think.
