there are lots of limitations on the Apex. i have a freind who got one(rx7) and doesn't like it. they are only programed to use curtain sensors, like the map sensors. they only let you fool with fuel and timing, nothing else. get a haltech. i can get one for and have maps aready to go. if you live close i would install it for you also.

Darkimpreza: If you're going to be spending that much money, go with a Haltech or a Tec-II. Technik can get the Tec-II installed/tuned, not too sure about the Haltech but I'm sure they can get that done as well.

I thought the Unichip can only be installed/tuned by certified shops? Is it true?

You know, honestly I would LOVE a Unichip, but I want to be able to program it myself as well. Does anyone know anything about programming it? Has anyone hacked at it and made any sense out of it to the point of being able to write an app and make a special cord for it? APS is so cutting off business by not allowing end-users to buy and program this unit themselves...

A fully programmable ECU is one thing, but one where you can just merely manipulate what the output of the stock ECU is leaves so much more room for error and ease of programming. *shrug*
