Default Does the 2001 Legacy H6 LL Bean come with a 4AT or a 5AT?

As the title suggests, I am trying to find out what transmission the 01 H6 Legacy LL Bean shipped with. I assume its a 4AT since I also assume that the 5AT first appeared with the current gen Legacy in 2005. Correct?

that is correct thomas. The 4at is the trans that was in the 01. The 5at was put into the line in 2003.

Cool. I just started to wonder after I changed my step moms ATF. The bottles clearly state "Not for 5MT" in small yellow letters near the top. I didnt see this until after my step-left so I could not be sure. I though "o-crap!" but I guess its cool. Just goes to show you what I know about autos.
