Default This body kit will fit on???

I'm looking for a body kit for my Legacy 2006 from japanparts.com. But nobody can confirm that it can fit correctly on an North American Legacy.

Is there a difference between a North American 2006 Lagacy and a JDM???

The one on the picture look a lot like our cars. Anybody know about JMD and North American model?

The guys at Japanparts.com are not sure if it can fit.

The Body panels should fit physically speaking anyway, however, the only problem that I could see you having (if a problem at all) would possibly be the mounting points.

I know there are guys in here that have put on JDM kits on their Legacy's. Not the same year but I'm sure they could offer some wisdom and insite.

I think he's more asking if it's like Revision D for BE/BH models.

I really doubt JDM parts have different mounts, that's the frame of the car, and they rarely change that.

There's no current revisions for the new body Legacy. All parts *should* be interchangeable.

Yeah, but the USDM bumper is different, as are the bumper reinforcements, so lip kits won't work with the US bumper (besides the STI-type lips) and full bumpers will usually require modifiying the bumper beams and support structure.

On the japanparts.com, it is indicated that this body kit fit "BL/ B4/ 2.0GT, 2.0R, 2.0i" From what I know, from 2005 the body model is BL. Is the north american BL is the same as the JDM BL model?

Like sybir wrote, it's possible that the bumpers are different because of the safety requirements.

Sybir, are you sure about the difference in the bumpers?

If it's really different, is there any north american company that make body kits? I don't whant something extreme, just something nice to make my car different. I had a Wings West on my 2003 WRX and I really liked it.

Thanks

Ok, I have answered to my question myself. I went to Subaru Japan website and it is clear that the Legacy bumper is really different. Here's the 3 JDM Legacy model they have.

The 2.0R, 2.0i or 2.0GT look like that:

The 3.0R look like that:

And the SpecB look like that:

and our USDM model:

The current cars in Japan are newer versions than in North America. Usually a year or two newer in revisions. The taller grille and bumper changes are new to this year's JDM Legacy's, and will likely be seen here for 2008. Before that, they looked like USDM currently does.

That's not completely correct. The above pics are of facelift models, but there were still differences in the bumpers between the zenki JDM cars and the USDM cars. It's a bigger bumper on the USDM, with smaller fog cutouts, and the whole thing is a little bit deeper (which is why the STi lip just kind of sits under it, instead of out in front of it.)

If you're looking to go with a full skin, just be prepared to hack up your bumper beam; lip kits are going to depend on the specific lip (just like how some lip kits will work on WRX wagons and sedans, even with the width differences)

I'd check with the guys on legacygt.com, or do a search for Mike's car (CreoWRX) as he's got a JDM spec B front end on his USDM Spec B that looks really clean.

BL is just a chassis code. It doesn't mean squat for the body if there is a revision.

ie: Rev. C is not even close to Rev. D on the 3rd generation (sheetmetalwise) , but they're all still BEs.

Not 100% correct for JDM fitment: but not far off the mark; I'll explain why:

The Body Kit as pictured includes a Front 1/2 Spoiler. If we were to quote for this as a "Bolt-on" conversion; then the Kit would also include the (Painted) JDM front bumper face, JDM energy absorber and JDM back bumper beam

*The JDM Front bumper 1/2 Spoiler will fit the JDM bumper face, it won't fit the Stock USA bumper face*

We would supply the Kit on the basis that, (of course), you would be using this for Off Road use only

All nuts, bolts, tags and brackets, + Front bumper foglight Kit can be supplied as JDM Subaru parts, and quoted for to any destination North America

To advise "how much and how soon" PM me or email and please let me know;

(1) Color/Color Code of your vehicle as Parts are supplied Painted
(2) Zip or Postal Code of your delivery address
