Tentative schedule for the rally-x on Sunday:

8am tech inspection
9am First Car Out
Run groups TBA based on attendance.
I believe the cost is $30.

Come out and support the PRG Rally-x series! The more people we can get out to the events this year, the greater the chances of a WA rally-x series next year. The organizers are hoping there is enough interest locally to support a full WA rally-x series next year.

I have been asked to put on a Rally Driving School on Sat August 5th at the Straddleline ORV Park just west of Olympia. I will use a rally cross-type course, so it will be open to all cars (street and rally) and the format will be 2 hours of ground school (just on DRIVING), then about 6 hours of driving exercises and a fun graduation course which will be timed. No driving suits required, but bring a helmet if you have one...

I may come up Friday night and might do a little extra seminar session that night open to anyone. Kinda a "campfire talk" on rally... or else we will just play poker and "bench race."

With the help of PRG the price has been reduced to $125 for just the day (Sat) which includes personalized instruction, the Primitive Performance Driving Course Book, and plenty of runs on a wide, graded track in front of the grandstands. $30 discount to anyone who has taken one of my other courses.

So, Sat Aug 5th is now a Rally School at ORV park and that's right, Sunday Aug 6th is a RallyCross (not a rally sprint) at the ORV Park, put on by PRG.

Erik is very right though. We need to get more peopple out to these events locally. PRG is working very hard to reduce their learning curve and put on a great event. I have been to both events in Brooklyn this year and would be here as well but I need to get my Impreza back together for the end of the month.

Bummer Ken. I was going to try to talk you into letting me dual-drive your car. I'd probably kill the 1.8L in my never-going-to-be-done rally car doing the event.

That would be a free 83 wagon i gave you there zap lol. I forgot to tell you... Make sure to get tabs a month before they expire or else it will have to go through emissions again. Its weird... Last year or something I dunno, thats what they told me at DMV.

Those of you that missed it, missed a pretty good event. Turnout was abysmal....something like 14 cars. PRG made the best of it by getting 6 runs per car and fun runs and finishing up by 2:30 in the afternoon. Course was mostly wide open and flowed smoothly from turn to turn with no funny kinks; great second gear course for my Impreza until the finish which had two 180 hairpins to slow you down before leaving the field. Water truck only went out for dust control and course was only impacted near the finish line. Due to the low turnout, all competitors ran together and only PRG people worked the cone shagging duty. For those of us who would like rallycrosses closer to home than Oregon, PRG is the answer. Hopefully, they don't go broke and discouraged by the low turnout. I know it was last minute scheduling that created that, but......

Anyway, enough of my rant. I'll post pics as soon as I have a chance to process them.

I will attempt to be the voice of PRG for nasioc. I have some things I want to cover at the meeting on Wednesday night and I can add that to my list. I will try to remember to post something the friday previous and just bump it throughout the week for those that didn't see it the first few days. This posting was delayed by a lack of information and pictures. Hopefully I will be able to work things out in the future so that you guys will have more notice.

If you like I can send them to you as attachments. I culled them down from 185 to 28 pics. When I have some more time, I'll go through the originals a bit slower and see if there are a few more I can toss up. If anyone else wants to do that, I plan on putting them all on CD. One of these days, I'll take the time to learn to upload to nasioc or specialstage.

Looks like more of a problem with a lowered suspension than tires/wheels. It is very pretty, but you were courageous going out there with that combination. This was a pretty smooth course but not all venues are quite that forgiving. My Impreza looked the same way when I first bought it. I replaced the H&R springs with stock struts and pulled the RS wheels/tires and went to 14" wheels/tires. Not as pretty but more practical for rallycross.
Take some time this week to hose off the much before it dries out; once it hardens it is very difficult to remove.

Erik, thanks for taking the time to post rallycross stuff for PRG. I'd really like them to succeed. An event 2 hours south for me is so much easier for me than Portland. PRG has a dedicated core group and it'll take time to iron out the kinks especially in the advance publicity end. You're supplying a valuble service to them with your regular postings. Another thought that will help them gain interest is prompt posting of results and any pics of the recent event. I try to pick up any info I see on nasioc or specialstage and re-post it on the usmb. Thanks for making the effort.

Sigh ... so close to home and I had to pass this event up .... as I'm in the process of completing preparations for a weeks fishing trip to Port Hardy ...

I'm pleased to see all who did attend had a great time ... and I look forward to playing in the dirt next time ...
