I know I just got around to doing my solenoid install and my boost and fuel maps are all screwy, I just happened to have that log (3rd gear I think) from this morning and wanted to compare - but I will get a better 5th gear log and make a better comparison

Cool. Yea a bit more volts and psi than the 29. One thing I forgot to do is record the air intake temperature on my first run. Its about high 80s down south I'm guessing?

yeah I didn't record them either, but I will snag an IAT reading on my way home for comparison purposes

I still know I can get some better spool and power out of her as my maps still have alot of tweaking they need

If you could that would be great I've got several 3rd gear pulls from oe turbo from ~ 2200-> redline, would be nice to see the 23 for a comparo. The more I look into the 23 the more it looks like it might be the "right one"

but here are some dynosheets from the past to now.

this is from a year ago. tuned at Godspeed in Detriot, MI 265whp/250trq on a Dynapak dyno

this year. late spring. I had Tim from PDX Tuning tune my car.
Pump 93. 19-20psi 289whp/266trq on a Mustang dyno!

and now for Cam2 Race fuel. 24-25psi making 303whp/300trq.
this map is a lot of fun to use lol.

my mods are...

vf23 turbo
565cc sti pinks
APS DR625 FMIC
no brand uppipe
Buschur Racing turboback
MBC
walbro 255 fp
Perrin turbo inlet pipe
Turbo XS short ram intake
Turbo XS UTEC
and I think thats about it for the motor.

hopefully this will help let you know what your car can make with the vf23 turbo

convert mafv to air mass
assume 1lb/min = 10hp

it is a very rough rule of thumb.

Posts like this ^^^^ get me all giddy! My vf23 was put on just a few days ago and will be getting tuned Nov. 10th. Thats an impressive pull ken! You will have a very strong setup when you get that ADI hooked up.

The thing is the only reason his setup is so strong.

HE TUNED IT HIMSELF. If you goto a "tuner" you will not see the same results.

good point. not only did i tune it myself, but i've BEEN tuning it myself for the last 4 years, and i'm still not done yet.

most tuners won't tune a customer's car to 25-26psig on a vf23, running the injectors static in the process, and bumping the rev limiter to 8200!

i really can't say i blame them, either--there are so many things that can go wrong when you're pushing multiple envelopes.

still, no matter what, the vf23 is a great little turbo... (thanks mark, you rock!)

Trust me....I very aware that no tuner will make those sort of results. I was just commenting on the fact of just that, his tuning abilities and my admiration of his "outside the box" thinking. I'm looking forward to personally using the VF23 for the characteristics that ken has proven it capable of.

Kudos!

I wasn't being a smart ass. I was just stating that "most" normal people (Ken is not normal) will never see that performance out of a VF23.

Ken I am still amazed that that little turbo is still going strong. I think you are the third owner. Like everyone said "You will frag the compressor wheel at those PR's" LOL
