Default Hey guys can you help me out?

Okaie SO I am deciding wheather or not to get the COBB stage 2 Suspension kit.

OR for around the same price try to find a STI TMIC and also the vf39.

Also if I didnt want the Cobb susp. Should I go with TEIN '06 Spring's? BTW I have only found the springs for '06 STI's ONLY. Would I just have to get '06 STI top hats?

Plez help me out guys and dont give me crap about these questions.

Well, I look at it this way... Do you think you'll be happy with the power level of a STi TMIC and VF39 6 months from now? 1 year? 2? If not then I'd personally have to question if it is worth my money if I would just end up replacing it down the road with what I really wanted in the first place. On the other hand, unless you are racing competitively, the suspension investment might make you happy for years, maybe even the life of your car.

Also keep in mind that you might not be able to extract the most from the turbo upgrade without some tunage, which is going to cost you extra.

I was on the verge of getting this before I found out that I'd be moving into a new place. I dont remember the drop the springs have, but I thought it seemed a bit low for my tastes. If anything I was going to do the COBB stage one, and find some good springs that were the height I wanted, or just go the coilover route.

There is also the option of Cobb AP + ProTune from Surge.

And the Cobb OTS Maps are pretty decent in and of themeselves. I have been running mine for about a year without a single problem, on or off the track.

Not dogging on Rich, just providing the alternative.

Suspension is always a good choice though, like another poster said if you do it right, you'll most likely love it and keep it forever.

Just remember on our cars too low is often bad, generally speaking. The "badness" can be countered some with much higher spring rates, but you wouldn't want to run anything too hard around town.

...unless you're just interested in it just for the looks (definition of rice), then the s-tech's will give you what you need.

They have an even lower spring rate than the s-techs, so no.

Crucial sport springs. Thats what I'm going to run atleast. They're a little more conservative on the drop, but its better for our suspension geometry.

IMO, suspension mods always pay the most dividends vs. power. At least that was the case with my subie.

Beware of just doing springs, though, because oftentimes that won't improve the car's feel/performance as much as a spring/strut combo or coilovers. And definitely stay away from the Tein springs if you want a performance ride. Something that drops an inch or so and a set of adjustable shocks will get you where you want to be. Add F/R sways and you'll love your car forever.

Tons of info on suspension on here - do yourself a favor and search the main forums before you buy. Lots of people have been there before you and learned a lot by spending their money. Take advantage of that.

No kidding. Sways alone make a huge difference on our cars - I got ride of the understeer with a set and nothing else.

I like 'em. I think the rate could be a bit higher, but that's not a complaint. If you want to feel them, let me know. Gil (gharari) is running them too, you might want to ask his opinion. He switched from his prodrives after a ride in mine.
