Bos forester

this intecooler can take alot of power. it is the nicest looking kit out there, imo. i don't care if it's made in china,sudan,u.s.a. all i know is that the intercooler works flawlessly. when my car was tuned and made 373whp on a mustang dyno. the intercooler was cool to the touch and heatsoak was nonexistent. my tuner was amazed of how effecient wbr intercooler was.dave, this is one hell of an intercooler.

Gruppe-S comments

Actually I'm fairly certain our dyno reads lower than MZM but that's not really important. 390 WHP on a TMIC would be pretty much impossible though. A turbo big enough to make those kind of numbers would necessitate a FMIC. The reason for this is that a turbo that big moves and incredible amount of air. This causes heat and TMIC + heat = heat soak. This Forester ran a TMIC before it ran a FMIC and it made 22 less WHP with the TMIC than the FMIC. Also, APS doesn't make any turbos bigger than the 30R .82 that will bolt on with the stock TMIC. In any event, I'm sure that Forester was plenty fast and that there is one or several Foresters that are faster than this one somewhere in the world.

The other STI/WRX kits that are hundreds of dollars more than the WBR do have clockwise flow. However, if you look closely at it, you can see that they also have a nearly 90 degree bend just after the turbo. At that point, the hottest air coming out of the turbo is passing directly under the pipe that is entering the throttle body. Then it goes to the intercooler and is cooled. It exits the intercooler and goes up the fender well. Passing through the fender well it expands to three inches...which slows down the flow. As it is slowing down it travels directly over the red hot turbo and then into the throttle body.
I have chosen a different path. The same 90 out of the turbo, into a sweeping 90 over the turbo. This is the last heat this air sees before it goes into the intercooler. Exiting cold out of the intercooler it is not reheated by the hot turbo before entering the throttle body.
We all like perfection, I know I do. I'm surely not saying this is perfection but I beleive this is a more efficent FMIC system than theirs. To do something different than the Best in the Business , you had better have a damn good reason.

Thanks,
It's been two years in the works. I wouldn't release it until it was right. Now it's right.

Will this work with the APS CAI? The pipe routing looks as though they might occupy the same space in the fender.

I did not get a chance to grab this from you, but I have one coming in. Will post up my impressions after install and what gains or benefits if any. I had a large TMIC and it was not enough foe my new setup so this is going in this week, with any luck it will more than deliver.

BUMP for a great product!

I do have one question, does this work with a Perrin big maf if not do you have an intake that will? Also does that intake have a mafless setup since I will be doing a blow through setup on the ic piping. I am in the know but wanted to see if you had a solution.

Like I said I am in the know, have a relationship with someone at the manufacturing end. I was under the impression that the 76mm mafless was not out of production yet. Will pm for more info and ordering but I need this ASAP and with a good price. I believe the intake comes with a K&N filter not sure on the size or length of the cone. Reviews and power numbers to follow once I install this with my STAGE 4 PLUS Meth setup.

I have had serious fitment issues with the Turbo XS front mount on my 2006 WRX because the engine bay had been changed after 2005. Have you tested this on a 2006 WRX, and will it fit?
