Subaru Banner Will WRX oil filter work on our RS?

Hey guys, its time for another oil change but dont have any oil filter laying around. My friend with an 03' WRX has a OEM Subaru oil filter and crush ring for me to use on my 05' RS, but wasnt sure if theres a difference between the OEM Subaru turbo filter and the N/A filter. Will it be okay for me to use his, or should I get a N/A one? Thanks.

I hate to say it, but this one was too easy: Don't fear the search button! There are heaps of filter application guides online.

The ones I've seen say that the cars share the same filter.

Yup it will work. Subaru actually uses the same filter on all 4 cylinders now, turbo and N/A.

Ok I just bought a HP-1008 K&N oil filter for a WRX and STi and was wonderin if this will work for the RS cuz I was runnin a HP-1004. I was using Royal Purple but I cant find it anywhere around here in Indiana so Im gonna use Lucas syn. 5W 30. Or should I go back and exchange it for a 1004?

I think Subaru filters are actually Purolator filters, rebadged. So I buy those...

Purolator L14460 is the one I get. L14459 is for the Outback.

Subaru stopped using Puralator for everything but the 6 cylinder after horrible leaking issues.

IIRC I use the 1008s on both the RS and WRX. I'd go out and check but it's raining right now.
