I see that lol. I was mainly wondering about the actual fitment of the yakima fairing on the oem crossbars considering they say that they will only fit with yakima bars; you know what I mean now? haha. But yah I agree $60-80 for a piece of plastic with metal attatchments is pretty rediculous but im too lazy to make one haha.
Yeah sorry just was reading back over and saw that. I'll take a photo later today and upload it.
It was definitely time consuming, We ended up having to
-Buy the oem kayak clamps and used them as the attachment point onto the oem rack.
-Then for the actual yakima connectors (which are round) we used a heat gun to flatten the plastic out, then cut off the un-useable end portions of the connectors.
-Got brackets to reinforce the attachment of the yakima connectors to the kayak clamps.
-Then just bought some longer bolts and wing nuts to made it all work.

Can someone point me in the right direction for a BIKE roof rack that fits on the OEM oval bars. I'd like something that I do not have to take the front tire off.

Thule bars, Yakima trays, old school Thule fairing that I've had for maybe 10 years now. I might try the Rocky Mounts fork mount trays in the future. The lever/lock on the Viper fork mount is far to time consuming.

See above. You can get Thules from Performance Bike 10% off with code 805. I haven't seen them lower anywhere else.

Wish I would've thought through mine some more. Basically just cut the ends off of the square bar brackets, drilled a hole through my bars and voila

Why would you want to lock the mighty mounts? Aren't they "locked" when you put whatever rack on top of them?

If you have long enough bars it will. Do you have the factory bars?

Idk what those are but I could fit the basket and a bike rack on my factory bars if I slide the basket all the way over

I suspect it will fit then. Also you could put the bike rack on top of the basket.

^^ Measure from edge of top of car to the other edge. You want it to fit between the bars but not like mine looks up top. THey measure from tip to tip and that tip is tapered down from the body of the fairing.

Only one I see there that doesn't require front tire to be taken off is this and it says for round bars, not oval.

The bike rack is screwed on to the mightymounts but those bolts are covered from the rack. The mightymounts are out in the open and someone could just unscrew everything in 5 minutes. make sense?
I have the stock cross bars so thats my main issue

I've heard of clear bra being used successfully, cut to match the shape of the feet. I'm planning to try it this coming winter. (I don't use my rack in the summer.)
