Removed my Inno fairing for a while until I can get some kind of protection under the feet.

Just the OEM crossbars, Yakima forklift, and my bike!

When mounting your snowboards onto the racks, how do you guys avoid scratching from the bindings?

Bindings up? Might be a lil worse as far a MPG's go. Personally the OEM rack w/ inno attachments lifts them high enough that they wont scratch.

I had the thule snow racks before and what I did was fold the top strap down then fold the highback over that and cinch it down with the toe strap which seemed to get the bindings as small as possible

I picked up a Yakima roof basket the other day from the REI yardsale....$99 WOOT! It fit right on top of my thule rack with no modification. Anyone know if the Yakima attachments mount to the roof basket?

They should. They mount to round bars and that's nothing all they are on the basket

Can't do that with 4 boards.
If the bindings are collapsed, you should have more than enough room to not get scratches.
Can I ask what the purpose of the fairings is? Other than free advertising for the manufacturer. I wouldn't mind getting fairings if it reduced drag or something.

Reduce wind noise.

Turn it around if you don't want to advertise.

Its crazy loud at 80mph with the sunroof open! I turned the fairing around and put some stickers on. Much better . I thought about putting my roof rack fairing back in but it's a bit too much.

Wouldn't it really depend on the type of fairing and the load being carried? I'm just curious.

Without any load or carriers, would the fairing cause more drag than an aero-style crossbar just by itself?

Sure does! I don't get nervous driving on the freeway like I did with the trunk rack. My bike is around 35lbs as well if that helps. It's super easy to load/unload.

well yea if you carry a chair^ your mpg will suck haha but like with snowboards and stuff not really. It just makes the bars more aerodynamic
