Can someone answer my question without me looking thru 155+ pages?

I have an 05 WRX wagon with the factory rails. Looking to get the OEM aero crossbars and the OEM Snowboard / Ski rack (made by Yakima I think?)

I don't know what fairing will fit the aero crossbars. I think the 38" Yakima one is too wide and sits on the rails, they make a 32" one, but will it fit the aero crossbars?

Any other brands or suggestions?

I literally just posted about this if you just scroll up a little bit or search......

I ordered a Thule 44" for my wagon. Itll fit with little modification.

I am soo jealous of all of you with roof racks . I need something for my wrx so I can haul more than two peoples worth of stuff to the mountain (well its more like a hill compared to anything out west). But alas they are out of my budget .

Had to go get my snow tires mounted. Summer tires and wheels took up all the trunk space so I had to put my studded snows in the basket.

After snow tires were mounted and a car wash

Love my basket. Can carry so much stuff. Last weekend I had 4 sleds, a snow skate and a snow board. Everything fit in it nicely and was tied down with the cargo net.

I was at Walmart lastnight and almost picked up a roof basket, which was on clearance for $40... i would have probably bought it if i had a roof rack. (I'm still looking for and OEM one in my price range used or new)

I ran 38" Yakima last year... That was with a set of Railgrabs, and I simply trimmed the fairing where it "sat on" the rails:

Just to be sure... The kit that you're looking to get has ROUND crossbars, right? The Yakima fairing will only work if your crossbars are round (not ovalish, like my stock WRX crossbars were).

I've heard people making the fairing work with the oval crossbars, but I've yet to see a picture of how it was done. If the crossbars that you are getting are oval shaped... then your only option for a fairing, from everything I've read in this thread, is to go with the medium Inno fairing.

Check Craigslist. I found both my crossbars (new in the box) and my basket for less then I could get either one of them from the dealer.

Does the fairing save any mpg's ? Or is just for getting rid of the air noise ? I don't notice any noise until I put my basket on.

I might have to check my Walmart nearby, I hope they'll have one on clearance too. $40 is a steal

Sorta tough to see the rack, but I finally got it all on there. Just a bike rack for now since its low profile enough to keep on there every day. Snowboard rack usually comes off after every trip, but it hasn't even been that cold yet this year. Hoping to go by New Years.

I love how low profile the Thule rack is, sits at least an inch lower to the roof than my BMW rack. Hopefully there is enough clearance for bindings.

Edit: Just wanted to add specs for anyone searching for an 11/12 rack setup.

460R towers
RB47 rails
3068 fit kit
871XT fairing

Fits like a glove, looks awesome. Took maybe an hour to install.

That is so BA, Never knew Walmart had stuff like this. I just got one for FREE from my Dad. I just need the mounting hardware.

I was thinking the same thing and I'll be heading over to Walmart after work. I always wanted a basket and for $40... score!

Yup picked it up a few weeks ago. So far it's great just needed some cleaning up and fixing a few things. I'll be changing some stuff and hopefully making it more my own soon. Definitely have some plans for it.
