Hey everyone - I've decided to sell my existing setup: OEM Crossbars ('08-'11) and Inno Medium Fairing!

Both are fairly new... in fact, I used the Inno fairing for less than a week and never got around to reinstalling it.

More info/pics can be found in my for sale thread, but I thought I would mention it in this thread since it's pretty popular:

Is that bad? I'd say 90% of the people in here have them for functionality.

change that to 99%......I don't imagine too many people have a roof rack and don't use it. If so, that makes me a saaaaaaaaaaad panda.

I have these racks on my 02 wrx wagon. They do allow you to slide the rack forward to get the hatch open with a bike up there. The problem is that there's nothing keeping the front wheel perfectly straight, so on the road, the front wheel wobbles side to side. It's perfectly stable, just looks awkward and precarious when the front wheels is fluttering back n forth on the freeway.

i hate to post without adding a pic in here but i don't have any taken yet and this seems to be the best place to ask. My setup is the factory aero bars, inno med fairing and yakima big powderhound.. On a recent trip to the mountain(1hr45min each way, varrying btwn 65-75mph) i had two boards facing down as i thought this would be most aero dynamic but my mpgs were worse than i thought they would be with everything on. I averaged 20.7mpg during the whole trip.. Just wanted to check in and see what other people get as far as mpg and whether most people transport boards facing up or facing down? Thanks in advance

You were also driving up a mountain. I don't know what I average but it's about 150 miles round trip and takes about half a tank. Figure about 7 gallons so what is that ~21mpg

Right now I'm averaging about 18 in town. That's with just oem bars but bigger wider tires don't help either. When I have my basket on I get about 15mpg or so

I never take mine off, either have snowboard carriers, a basket, or a couple bike racks and I get between 20-25 depending on driving.

I haven't noticed a difference daily driving with my rack on/off. When I go boarding the MPG drops, but I think it's more to do with me going up a mountain at full speed and less to do with 2 boards on the roof. I don't know if it's the same where you go, but here the speed limit is 70 up the mountain, most go 60ish, so I expect to lose some MPGs on my way to first chair.

Unfortunately here in the tri-state area there isn't much driving ''up'' any mountain for more than 3 minutes which can't account for much. Maybe one day i'll man up and drive out west to get some real boarding in. But it seems my mpg's are not too far off from other people.

Bought a Flatop 6 to match the rest of the Thule stuff. Replaced the no-name 2 board holder I had. Figured I needed room for 4 boards now just in case everyone with me had one. Used it the day after I got it with 2 boards and a pair of skis. Fits with the bike rack still attached, money.

And bringing home my new S-works SL3 Tarmac last night.

I could have bought a set of Volks and very nice coilovers for what I paid for the bike, and it was 50% off retail...
