I got a great deal on a thule echelon from a local shop. So I stopped by the dealership and picked up a pack of aero clips for Subaru's bike mount, and this is what I came up with. It seems plenty strong, but the factory aero bars do seem to flex quite a bit allowing the bike to rock more than I would prefer. Has anyone else used the factory clips this way? I'm thinking of picking up some longer bolts and running a small steel plate under the clips to bolt thru and tie them together.

Those look A LOT like my Yakima raptors. Let me know what angles you need, as I have them on my OEM Xbars

That looks great!

Since it looks to be a bit of a process to put the rack on, do most people leave them on all the time?

Hey guys, I have an 06 wrx limited wagon (oem roof rails and sunroof). Does anyone know how to mount a rack on the railswith a faring so that the fairing clears (sits entirely in front of) the sunroof? I searched for a while last night without anything helpful really coming up.

Get a Thule system with the Crossroads feet and load bars and mount the front bar as far forward on the rails as you can and see if you can pick up an old school 555 fairing. That's the set up I had until I put my MOAB on and it clears the area where the sunroof is.

Just bought a Subbie and transferred the Yakima system I have used on two other vehicles. Steelhead, Big Stack, Powder Hounds. works great!

Does anyone have a good way to keep the fairing from scuffing up the roof? I have a Thule setup and the feet of the fairing still have plenty of the rubber padding left, however, after only having the rack on for a week it's left a mark where the feet are rubbing on the roof.

Will a clear bra type material on the bottom of the feet and on the roof itself prevent this? Is there any other alternative so my roof doesn't get ruined?

Clear bra will work fine, my old Yakima fairing came with some small pieces for it.

When I had an Inno fairing, I didn't apply the vinyl and it scratched it up in just a few days.

Whats the clearance like with the hatch open? I'm guessing you can't open all the way with the bike on, but what about with it off?

The clearance with the hatch open is fine and does not touch. I will try to take a picture next time I have the bike out. The kayaks on the rack on their side definitely touch...just barely though.

Thule Fairing

Ski and snowboard racks
Wide size to fit a bunch of skis and/or (god forbid) snowboards. Includes lock.

This picture is extremely relevant to my question:

LOAD CAPACITY for my Thule setup (400 XTR RapidAero foot pack and RB47 Load bars)??

Thule doesn't mention any load specs for the feet, and the load bars are discontinued and not mentioned on their site.

This guy says load capacity is 165lbs for the bars:
http://www.amazon.com/Thule-RB47-Rap...ews/B000OWS2T0

according to other posts on this thread, OEM bars are either 75lb max or 75lbs per corner (300lb) max.

so a safe assumption would be around 100 lbs I guess. I have this vision of all my **** blowing off on the interstate, and getting plowed by semis.
