Dang, Ann Arbor to the UP. I bet that will be a beautiful trip. I love northern MI.

I ended up buying the Rail Grab towers from REI on sale. The Home Depot 3/4" galvanized pipe is an exact fit. I guess if you're feeling good about it, you could probably also use aluminum.

So basic retail price for the Yakima cross bars is actually $80.
A pipe from Home Depot is $19. You could probably get it cheaper through a metal supplier. I'd say its worth it.

I don't want a bare metal look, though. Right now I'm torn between PlastiDip or Bedliner to coat the pipe and give it some grip for the accessories.

Hey guys! I just ordered my Yakima forklift for my OEM setup. I'll post pics when it ships in.

^ Glad to hear it. I have been looking for months now for the right kind. I'm kind of kicking myself for going with the OEM setup, but they do make my car look sexy. =j

The Forklift is actually the same one offered by Subaru, it just doesn't have the "Subaru" logos on it.

For myself I was hesiting between the Forklift or a rack that we don't need to take the front wheel.

Got the OEM crossbars for my car, couldn't have been any easier to put on! I just ordered the RockyMounts Tierod, can't wait to slap my bike up there!

Question though, when I got it, they said I needed some clips, however they appear to be for attaching Subbie racks, since I'm not using OEM racks, those aren't nesc. correct? Part # is E361SXA100. One last question, I'm going to need a wheel holder for my front wheel, what's most cost effective?

here's the one I run... $49 locks included and don't have to take the wheel off which is wayyyyy better imo esp if you bike a lot and don't want to be taking wheels on and off.

Ok, I couldn't find it cheaper anywhere else, so I'm happy with it. Thanks!

I just bought Thule 450 Crossroads feet and 50" square bars to go on my 2012 Impreza Sport Premium hatchback with the factory rails.

What's the biggest box that I can fit on my car without obstructing the hatch? I want a side-opening box, not rear opening.

Suggestions?

Just purchased a medium Inno fairing. I was curious if any members have pictures of the fairing on OEM crossbars? Thanks.

Nice set ups. The medium is on back order, but I can't wait to get mine.

What do you guys think about sticker bombing?
I heard they fade pretty fast.
