I usually do about 10 over on the highway. No fairing. I have the Yakima FreshSesh on in the winter and Yakima Copperhead bike mount on in the summer. The FreshSesh's get laid down when not carrying boards.

I'll go ~70-75 mph in a 65. I don't think I'm going fast. This is with the Yakima fairing and Big Powderhounds.

Question for all the Yakima owners~

Can the cross bars be cut down for a smoother and more flush look?

Yes, I popped the end caps off the bars and used a pipe cutter to trim my bars down so they are just a touch wider than the towers after replacing the end caps.

Also, does anybody with a 02-07 impreza sedan have a cargo container for their thule rack? Thule says it wont fit on the sedans... but I have a feeling it will work.

Kinda dark, yes, but still a sweet rack. I'll be shooting some more soon.

Can anyone recommend a fairing that will fit the stock roof rack for 2010 impreza outback sport? Also what size?

Did you have to buy any adapter to get them to fit? All the pictures I have seen show them attached to the yakima square bar.
Thanks

I have a Thule Rack but use a Yakima 15s Cargo Box (used to be called the rocket box). It's the square version and fits the car just right. It's also lower profile than all the Thule boxes and fits round or square bars just fine. The long ones get in the way of the spoiler preventing me from opening my trunk. All cargo boxes that I saw have a minimum bar spread of 24" so you'll have to either get a roof extender kit or just not follow the manual. I think the Thule manual tells us to set the bar spread at 18" I went ahead and moved it to 24" and have never had issues. Drove from San Francisco to Florida with the car loaded down and never had a problem. Everything was solid. On the plus side, I think the wider bar spread just looks better too.

Now, the requisite pic.

As long as you have the BMW-style built-in mounting points you can.
But I'm not 100% sure about the Legacy.
Just call Yakima and they'll totally guide you through the parts you need. The best racks have the best customer service too.

Yeah. I'm pretty sure someone used an Inno fairing and mounted it without tampering with it.

I can't find the post but the person used a Medium size Inno Fairing.

Thanks for the info! it looks like you have the same feet as I do as well. I already have my rack longer than 18", so I am happy you posted up. I didnt think it would be a problem... but you never know.
