for you guys with 2011s, what size fairing are you using with your thule rack? 38 or 44?

44 would be too large. I have a medium(39) Inno fairing and it is perfect!

thanks for the feedback, i currently have a 38 still in the box, i put it up to the car and it just seemed too small, i'll see how it looks once i get the rack together.

olazy, I just picked up an old school 43" Yakima fairing and it fits better than the newer version ones IMO. Also, the Thule 555 fairing which is 44" fit nicely as well. Go on Yakima's website or Thule's website to see what they recommend. I'll try and search through this thread for pics of an 08+ running the older styles for reference.

thanks qwak, i had the rack pieced together at rackattack and the 38" fairing was recommended. armadatilem's 39" inno fairing looks like a good fit so i'm gonna give the 38" a try, if it's too small i'll swap up. thanks guys.

You can cut the bars to whatever length you want. That's what I did.

I don't know if thule locks would work, but the fatcats from yamaha now come with locks included. you can still swap them out to do a same-key-system though if you want, that's what I did.

Here you go. This is when I was test fitting it before I got the correct measurement. The Thule crossbars I have is 50in.

^ is it the camera angle or is the rear bar at a higher level than the front? Doesn't cause any major issues though, right?

The thing is that I have a Thule base rack and I want the Yakima low profile ski carrier. But, I want the same key for the carriers that I have for the base rack, plus I've got 8 lock cores already so I don't want to buy anymore locks.
